I've created an NHL draft Google Sheet covering 2000 to 2024. The sheet can be used to filter and find different information, such as how many players from the 2023 draft have played at least 1 NHL game to date (9). Feel free to access and share docs.google.com/spreadsheets…
Didn't watch game, but just finished watching goals against. Not really understanding the Murashov panic. Great shot placement on goal 1, 50/50 goal/save for goal 2, defense completely absent on goals 3 & 4, and own goal off Letang for goal 5. Where was the horrible goalie play?
Still think Nikishin gets moved, where acquiring team has him signed this year plus RFA rights going forward. Nikishin blocked for next 6 years from top 4 LD by Slavin and Miller, RD he isn't as good, and he still isn't a system fit.
Novak and Karlssson (50% retained) for Nikishin. Do. IT. Dubas!
Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour announced Tuesday that the team will be without captain Jordan Staal, who suffered a tear in his calf.
Brind’Amour said Staal will miss at least a month, maybe two.

Fucking stupid
The Penguins have acquired defenseman Spencer Stastney from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Filip Hallander.

A big middle finger to @RJStadium for not allowing fans to bring in their own unopened bottles of water. Hope you get overrun with heat stroke patients so you can make your $7.5 a bittle of water. Greedy bastards.

Unsigned #Canes RFA/10.2c Alexander Nikishin has left his agency @QuartexxHockey.
Expecting him to select his new agency shortly.

There's a new version of this post
Spot-on assessment from @MarkMaddenX
Mark Madden: Sidney Crosby isn’t going anywhere; neither are the Penguins triblive.com/sports/mark-mad…
The summer of crazy contracts continue.....

I figured it out. This is an internal mole hunt by Dubas. He leaked the news to find out who would spill the beans and out the mole. It's all over now. They can take down the fake article on the Penguins site.
The only logical explanation for this Koivunen contract is that Ville has definitive proof of who shot Kennedy, and has exact GPS coordinates to the body of Jimmy Hoffa.
Quite concerning that Penguins top prospects continue to fall in Scott Wheeler's top 100 prospect rankings. In 2025, Kindel, McGroarty, and Brunicke were ranked 64, 65, and 66 respectively. Brunicke now 74, McGroarty 84, Horcoff 94. Nothing in top 50. Kindel graduated off list.
Per Penguins official site:
-Chinakhov gets a 3 year, 6.25M AAV deal
-Silovs gets 1 year at 2.8M AAV
-Gustafsson 1 year at 850K at NHL level
-Blomqvist 2 years at 875K at NHL level
Sources say #FlyTogether have been notified that an offer sheet is pending with defenseman Pavel Mintyukov.
So do you match the guy that jumped at an offer sheet to leave and become richest player in the NHL, or do you call Detroit, see if they'll take 2 firsts and a prospect for Larkin, and come away with Larkin and 2 extra firsts and still a ton of cap space?
