How is AI changing the way we understand and approach genomics?
Before AI, genomic information was communicated through risk scores, statistical associations, and written reports that required human interpretation.
Can AI have a soul? Are AI agents already becoming prophets? What if the next great religious movement begins with a chatbot?
If you’re working on these questions, or know someone who is, take a look at the call for papers posted below.

What happens when medicine begins treating predicted futures as though they were already clinical facts?
Rather than deriving authority from transparent reasoning or direct observation, AI systems increasingly guide clinical decisions through persuasive predictions about futures that have yet to unfold.

Nursing & healthcare are bleeding talent while politicians hype the trades as ‘the future.’ Yet, the numbers tell a different story: 295K+ RN shortfall now, projected 500K+ by 2030, and entry-level RNs start at ~$75K—beating the starting pay of most trades
Women now earn 62% of master’s and doctoral degrees and hold >60% of student-loan debt. Removing or restricting Grad PLUS would disproportionately limit access to the advanced credentials that have expanded women’s presence in leadership and policy roles.
My latest article for Women in Higher Ed explores how proposed changes to Grad PLUS and workforce messaging could deepen the healthcare and advanced-practice shortage, further straining an already critical sector. Read the full article here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
This week, my Intro to Digital Humanities students had the privilege of learning from John Englander and Sharon Gray from the Rising Seas Institute, who shared their expertise on the real-world impacts of rising sea levels.
Over the next 10 weeks, they’ll be working closely with John and Sharon to design and deliver their final project—a collaboration that bridges humanities research, technology, and community engagement.
The Implicit Religion US conference is a great opportunity for religion scholars to engage in interdisciplinary discussions and contribute to emerging conversations about the role of religion in society. See call 👇implicitreligion.co.uk/ir-us…
