The H-1B visa program was originally intended to bring in foreign workers only when Americans aren’t available. Instead, corporations have exploited it to replace American workers with cheaper foreign labor. I’m urging the Department of Labor to raise the wage floors that make this abuse profitable. When the financial incentive disappears, so does the scheme. ag.idaho.gov/newsroom/ag-lab…

Tomorrow is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Of Idaho teens who misused prescription drugs, over 40% got them from family or friends, and nearly 75% misused them at home. Clean out your medicine cabinet and drop off unused or expired pills anonymously, 10 AM to 2 PM. Find a site: ag.idaho.gov/newsroom/ag-lab…

Since 1934, the National Firearms Act has required gun owners to register suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns and wait for federal approval. My office joined a lawsuit challenging that requirement in court and won. As of Oct. 9, the ATF is no longer enforcing it nationwide. This relief depends on the current administration’s enforcement policy, and a future DOJ could reverse it. I’ve joined 20 other attorneys general in urging Congress to make it permanent. For nearly a decade, generic drug manufacturers rigged prices and shut out competition on common prescription drugs. Idaho families, businesses, and taxpayers paid the inflated cost every time they filled a prescription. My office joined more than 40 states and territories in reaching over $400 million in new settlements with Sandoz and its Novartis affiliates, along with Ascend, Citron, and Mayne. Each company also agreed to internal reforms to ensure fair competition going forward. These settlements build on earlier ones with Glenmark, Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, and Heritage, and we will keep pursuing the companies that remain. Idaho is one of only two states in the coalition that also secured restitution for businesses. Most of this money goes directly back to the people and businesses who overpaid. If you or your business paid for a listed generic drug between May 2009 and December 2019, you may be eligible for compensation. Check the list and file your claim at AGGenericDrugs.com or call 1-866-290-0182 ag.idaho.gov/newsroom/ag-lab…

I'm warning Idahoans about the increasing number of scams involving Idaho Power Company and electrical services in the state. Currently, Idaho Power has almost 400 customer accounts that have experienced fraudulent activity, including unauthorized service requests, fraudulent payment processing, customer impersonation, and unauthorized changes to customer account information. We suspect they originate overseas with scammers using spoofed phone numbers and websites registered in foreign countries. Consumers must be vigilant and never give private information to unknown callers or suspicious websites. Prevention and awareness are always the best ways to beat scammers.

Great to speak with the Club America chapter at Centennial High School recently. These students care about the Constitution, free speech, and the future of our country. Grateful for the opportunity to answer questions about the role of the Attorney General.

Today we sued OpenAI in Ada County, alleging that the company harmed Idaho children, deceived parents, and violated the Idaho Consumer Protection Act. Children’s safety in Idaho cannot be an afterthought in the race for profit or more powerful technology. Companies developing artificial intelligence must follow the law and answer for the harm they cause. We will hold OpenAI accountable.

Idahoans can now buy suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns without registration, lengthy waits, or federal taxes following guidance issued by ATF on Friday  that it will stop enforcing those requirements nationwide, following the court victory Idaho won with 14 other states. Idaho gun dealers and owners should read the ATF’s FAQs at: atf.gov/firearms/update-to-n… before buying or transferring firearms or seek a private attorney for more questions.

Happy Columbus Day! On this day in 1492, Christopher Columbus reached the New World and carried Western civilization and the Christian faith across the Atlantic. That inheritance is ours. Our duty is to guard it and hand it down stronger than we found it.

Great joining the Mountain States Policy Center at their policy luncheon in Idaho Falls. Talked about protecting Idaho kids and taxpayers — including our two-front fight against Medicaid fraud in Washington and Boise.

From choking hazards in toys, to Chinese fire extinguishers that explode, my office tracks product recalls every month so Idaho consumers can have confidence that their purchases won’t involve a trip to the emergency room or worse. Consumer Protection is just one of the divisions in my office devoted to looking out for Idaho families.
Consumer alert: Attorney General Raúl Labrador shares the September 2026 federal recall list of 51 hazardous products, including 17 designed for infants and children and, ironically, a fire extinguisher that poses an explosion hazard. @Raul_Labrador gemstatechronicle.com/2026/1…

Joined the Boise State community at the ribbon cutting for the ESI Construction Management Building. Congratulations to my friend, ESI President Neil Nelson, and the construction management community who worked for years to get this done. Great to meet new President David Hahn as well!

Not exactly dressed for the lava fields, but I couldn’t pass by Craters of the Moon without stopping. Idaho has some of the most remarkable landscapes in America. A great time to be out enjoying our beautiful state!

Great to sit down with Travis Blacker of the Idaho Potato Commission and Shawn Boyle of the Idaho Grower Shippers Association. Idaho potatoes are known around the world, and the families who grow and ship them are a big part of what keeps our state strong.

Great meeting with Idaho Falls Mayor Lisa Burtenshaw this week. We talked about the Idaho National Laboratory and the future of nuclear energy in East Idaho. I appreciate her time and her advocacy for Idaho Falls. Idaho is stronger when we sit down, talk, and work together.

I sat down with Idaho Falls Police Chief Bryce Johnson, Bonneville County Prosecutor Randy Neal, and Bonneville County Sheriff Sam Hulse to hear what they are seeing on the ground in Eastern Idaho. Public safety in Idaho depends on local law enforcement and local prosecutors. My job is to make sure they have a partner in the Attorney General's office when they need one. Thank you, gentlemen, for your time and for the work you and your teams do every day to protect Idaho families.

Thank you to the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce for having me this week. We had a great discussion about what my office is doing to protect Idaho families, from stopping online predators to fighting for consumers and small businesses. I appreciate everyone who came out.
