Hello world. All systems are go!
Most DB recovery plans assume AWS has an instance free when you restore. RDS and Aurora can now reserve it.
Capacity Reservations hold DB capacity in the AZs you pick, so restores and scale-ups don't fail on capacity.
Billed On-Demand, used or not.

See what your Ravion CI capacity is doing and what it costs.
Execution environment settings now show costs, pipeline minutes, running sandbox jobs, vCPU capacity, and host states in one place.

NAT gateway data processing charges eating your AWS bill?
Ravion's new alterNAT module moves private subnet egress to alterNAT instances with no per-GB charge, and fails over to a NAT gateway automatically if an instance fails.

Hit an AWS service quota? Ravion now flags it in the dashboard and lets you request the increase in one click.
No digging through the Service Quotas console mid-deploy. Coverage is limited for now, with more quotas coming.

Ravion pipelines got much faster: builds up to 4× and Terraform runs up to 10×, depending on workload.
Sandboxes: Firecracker microVMs on an autoscaling EC2 fleet in your AWS account. ~1s starts on warm hosts, and sticky disks keep caches between runs.

And this is how @Ravion authenticates with your own AWS account.

We’re working on some CRAZY awesome new @Ravion products that completely shatter the normal expectations of what’s possible for speed and cost on AWS 🤯
When one Ravion module's output feeds another module's input, the CLI now shows if that reference is up to date, stale, or unknown.
Stale means the upstream output changed. Ravion queues a change run for the downstream module, and it still waits for approval.

Aurora Serverless now scales up in bigger jumps: up to 16 ACUs added within a second, continuing up to 256 ACUs.
Spiky workloads get capacity sooner, and can still scale to zero when idle.
Default on platform v3 or v4. Older clusters must upgrade.

You can now choose the IAM permissions Ravion's Terraform runners use, per module.
Every module in this release adds plan and apply IAM policy inputs. Add your own managed policy ARNs, or turn off the defaults and run with only yours.

Aurora PostgreSQL can now query Iceberg and Parquet in S3 directly. No reverse ETL copying it into the database.
Point a foreign table at it and join it with live tables in one query. DuckDB runs inside Aurora.
Read-only. 17.11+ / 18.6+.

No more VPN, bastion host or SSH tunnel just to reach ElastiCache from outside AWS.
ElastiCache Serverless for Valkey now has public endpoints: connect from a laptop, a function or another cloud.
Auth is IAM-only over TLS 1.3. Valkey 9.0+.

Ravion's AWS modules now ship more SOC 2 groundwork by default.
CloudWatch alarms in the Aurora, RDS, ALB, ECS, Lambda, and Static Hosting modules.
365-day access log retention for ALB, CloudFront, and Static Hosting.

New Ravion module: AWS Compliance.
Pick your AWS Regions and it enables GuardDuty plus Basic ECR scan-on-push for every private repository, including ones you create later.
Heads up: it replaces any existing ECR Enhanced scanning or custom filters.

Terraform Stacks in Ravion now have separate run controls for pull requests and your primary branch.
Plan on the PR and apply after merge (the default), or plan, approve, and apply from the PR branch and skip the second apply on merge.

DynamoDB strong consistency across Regions is no longer confined to one continent.
MRSC global tables can now use any three of 15 supported Regions, including US + Europe + Asia Pacific.
Tradeoff: every write waits on another Region. Test latency.

Kubernetes coming VERY soon to @Ravion!!
We're now running all Ravion services on Kubernetes
Why?
Because we get 10-20s deploys instead of 2-3 mins on ECS
Combined with our sandbox powered builders = build + deploy around 1 minute 🔥
(yes sandboxes in your AWS coming soon too)
Ravion has a new project sidebar.
Environments and pipelines stay visible and easy to navigate. When you're viewing a module, a module sidebar lets you switch straight to another module.

Ravion's new AMI module releases an AMI with every deploy.
Each deploy builds it with EC2 Image Builder, copies it to every region, publishes it when requested, and retires older images.
Redeploys and rollbacks release earlier images without rebuilding.

New Ravion module: AWS Secret.
Generate random keys and passwords in Parameter Store or Secrets Manager. The value never appears in Terraform state, plans, Ravion, or your project config.
Optional multi-Region replication.
