When suffering seems unbearable, knowing God’s character gives us reason to trust Him, even when we cannot understand His ways. livingwaters.com/what-would-…
The fear of God is the missing virtue in our contemporary prayers, our man-centered preaching, and in our selfish thoughts.
Some today insist that Christians must keep the Sabbath day, that those who worship on the first day of the week (Sunday) are in great error. Read my full article here:

To walk in the fear of God means to ask the question of every thought, "Does this make God smile or frown?"
What other day of the year do dozens, if not hundreds, of unbelievers come to your door expecting you to give them something? October 31st (also known as Reformation Day) is an unbeatable way to get the gospel into the hands of so many young people. livingwaters.com/collections…
If you have a heart for evangelism, you will find a reason to reach out to the lost on every page of scripture. If you don’t, you won’t see it anywhere.
Truly thank God that you can breath, walk, see, taste, talk, sleep, and hear, and it will infuse your soul with a gratitude that will energize your evangelism.
The Law exposes our sin and silences self-righteousness, teaching us to extend the mercy we have received in Christ to others.

I have a love-hate relationship with National Geographic nature documentaries. I love seeing the animals, especially their little ones. A baby elephant, a young giraffe, or a lion cub can stop me in my tracks. My mind turns to the magnificence of God in fashioning such creatures. The wonder of it takes my breath away.
That’s the love part. The part I hate is hearing His creation described without giving Him an ounce of glory. They speak as though all this beauty and complexity came about by chance. Romans 1:21 describes it: “they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful.” The verse goes on to say that their thoughts became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
May God open their eyes to see His glory in what He has made.
The Law exposes the seriousness of sin and awakens fear, while the gospel offers sinners mercy, peace, and everlasting life through Jesus Christ.

I share the challenges of writing Compelled, showing how God can use even ordinary experiences as part of His greater purposes.

The story of the woman caught in adultery beautifully illustrates the mercy of God in Christ. She stood before men who knew the Law and were ready to stone her. They pressed Jesus to say what should be done.
Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground. Then He stood and said,
“He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” He stooped down again and continued writing. One by one, the men left, beginning with the oldest. When Jesus asked the woman whether anyone had condemned her, she answered, “No one, Lord.” He replied, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more” (John 8:7–11).
There was no question of her guilt. She had no defense to offer. The Law had exposed her sin, just as it exposes ours. It brings the knowledge of sin, stops the mouth that tries to justify itself, and acts as a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.
We rightly focus on the mercy Jesus showed this woman. It points us to the forgiveness found in Him: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). D. L. Moody said that the Law can chase a man to Calvary, but no further.
Yet we may overlook what happened to the men. When Jesus spoke, their consciences convicted them. They saw their own sin, and they dropped their stones.
That should speak to us. Once we have seen the sin in our own hearts, we cannot approach this evil world with stones in our hands. Rather, we go with outstretched arms, offering the glorious mercy of God in Jesus Christ.
God and Natural Disasters
The world is offended by the thought that God would send natural disasters. Yet, their God allows 40,000 children to die of starvation every 24 hours. He also lets thousands die in earthquakes and hurricanes. The truth is, the concept that a loving God would never allow such things to happen, is a figment of the worlds imagination. The true God warns, "Because you disdained all my counsel, and would have none of my rebuke, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, when your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me."(Proverbs 1:25-28) It is wise for us to therefore fear God, and listen to His counsel.
There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.
God has made Himself known to every person through creation and conscience, leaving no one without a witness to the truth.
