No Dream by @jeffrosenstock celebrates a five year anniversary today and I was so excited to cover it on the podcast.
Thanks to @RayDubert for joining the show to talk about it.
For a non-CCM album we found ways to weave it into the conversation.

"Bombs Over Broadway" is the 3rd album from @SquadFiveO. It was released August 15th, 2000 (thanks for the help @RayDubert).
I wish they would have stuck more to the ska punk sound but what are your favorite moments from this record?

Blood And Water's "In Character" was released July 10th 2010.
Maybe more pop punk than #ska but we will take it.
A fun catchy record, you should check them out.
What are songs that stand out to you?

This album was the soundtrack of my junior/senior year of high school. It holds up extremely well 20+ years later.

It’s almost Sunday. If you’re physically able, please plan on gathering with your local church.
“The church is a people, not a place.”
Yes absolutely, but for thousands of years, the people of God have always gathered—consistently, inconveniently—in a place.
You can watch online and get some good content. Good content is informative but in isolation, it struggles to be transformative. Transformation requires presence and participation most of the time.
So discard comfort and convenience and show up. And show up again. And again. Hope to see you Sunday.

Everyday—and Sunday—people show up at their calls, they go to work at member institutions of synod, and they participate in their local congregation.
The LCMS belongs to these just as much as it belongs to people who spend their time participating in foolish controversies.

During times of intense conflict it seems that LRJ is increasingly taking on the mantle of leadership in our synod—informing w/out bias—and trusting us to discern the truth in love. Thank you for this excellent work.
