The destinies of Iran and Europe are intertwined. The fall of the Islamic Republic would liberate the Iranian people and remove a profound threat to Europe’s security and freedom.
Today, survivors and families of those murdered in the January massacres brought the human cost of this regime directly to the European Parliament.
Europe has heard their testimony. Now it must act: end appeasement, intensify pressure on the regime, help keep Iranians connected and support their struggle for freedom.
What happens in Iran does not stop at its borders. It matters to all of Europe.
Today at the European Parliament, Iranian opposition leader @PahlaviReza and EPP Group Vice-Chair @fxbellamy MEP held a press briefing. They were joined by family members of victims of the January massacres. Discussions focused on the threat posed by the Iranian regime to Europe and the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy.
As MEP @fxbellamy stressed:
“The fall of the mullahs’ regime would be a liberation for the Iranian people and a major turning point for Europe’s security and freedom. The destinies of Iran and Europe are intertwined.”
The future of Iran matters, and Europe cannot look away.
We Iranians fighting the Islamic regime knew all along where this was headed.
Iran is not some out-of-the-way corner of the world. It occupies a far more strategic position than, say, the Korean Peninsula or Vietnam. Yet, for some reason, the US is not only reluctant to sustain a month or two of bombing but is also willing to forget the most basic principle taught in any military school: you can’t win wars without boots on the ground. In Iran’s case, those boots would have been the Iranian people themselves, so far regrettably left to face the regime’s repressive forces alone. A job half done created a rogue nuclear power in North Korea. Granted, Soviet MiGs prevented air supremacy back then, but with today’s technological superiority, it is all the more inexcusable to leave a terrorist Islamic regime in place. This will spell far greater disaster for the US than the North Korean threat ever will.

بله، جنگ همیشه و در ارتباط با همه چیز نقش بازی می‌کند. بیان این موضوع نه هنر است و نه سیاست!
فاجعه واقعی اینست که وارد جنگ با جنگ‌افروزان و نیرویی که نابودی تو را می‌خواهند بشوی و بعد ناگهان متوقف شوی و یکجانبه آتش‌بس اعلام کنی و با دشمنی که ضعیف‌تر ولی بسیار فریبکارتر از توست، وارد مذاکره بشوی!
اینهم نه هنر است و نه سیاست!
سیاستمدارانی مجرب‌تر و مماشاتگرتر از شما سال‌ها تلاش کردند و نتیجه‌اش در پایان، جنگ بود!
واقعا درک این موضوع خیلی مشکل است؟!
صلح و امنیت در خاورمیانه و همه جهان فقط با نابودی جمهوری اسلامی و استقرار یک ایران آزاد ممکن می‌شود. آنوقت قیمت نفت و بنزین هم عادی و باثبات خواهد شد.

Yes, war always plays a role in everything! Saying so is neither art nor statesmanship.
The real catastrophe, however, is this: after going to war against warmongers and a power that seeks your total destruction, you suddenly surrender, unilaterally declare a ceasefire, and begin appeasing and negotiating with an enemy who is far weaker, yet far more deceitful than you.
That too is neither art nor statesmanship!
Far more experienced politicians and appeasers than you have tried exactly that for years- and the result was always war!
Is it really that hard to grasp?!
Peace and security in the Middle East and the world will only be achieved through the elimination of the Islamic Republic and the establishment of a free Iran; only then will oil and gas prices normalize and stabilize.
