You always have to steer,
Whether software factory, loop, graph, goal prompting or coordinators managing a fleet of agents
I needed about 700 steers for 11,000 commits so 15 commits per steering decision on a 20 day goal. Plus 30 mini plans to replan the mega plan.
Replying to @Raynos
After running this on Codex, my honest stake is that I’ve tried the same exact setup multiple times over the last few months and I’m still not satisfied. It wastes a lot of tokens without manual steering and seems to pigeonhole itself and is still severely inefficient at optimizing its own workflow. Claude tends to perform slightly better and doesn’t require a dedicated human communication agent.
Still working on MMO. Day 40, 9 custom user made levels all connected on a single MMO grid of levels. Each basically mini zone made by anyone with Claude code and opus 5.5
What if all the tech demos were uploaded to a single continuous MMO, that’s the idea.
Day 39. I had a crazy head ache and had to go to bed at 5pm feeling sick.
I wake up and Claude committed 325 commits on my MMO. Mostly performance and memory optimization.
I might be sick but Claude doesn’t sleep and the MMO builds itself even if I don’t steer for 18 hours.
You turn around and wonder why your laptop is so slow, then you ask claude what it's been upto and it says
"Yeah the MMO has 500,000 lines of typescript, and 5,000,000 lines of JSON. and it's not even alpha 0.0.1 yet". ...
"Oh and it's 120GB on disk".
Working with Claude on a new mmo, it’s day 38. So far we’ve made 2,770 steering decisions, 73 a day. 670 of them are A/B/C look boards, here’s all of them
> when you think your a really good vibe mmo coder and then you look under the hood and find out opus has just been putting the binaries and glbs as base64 in 100mb+ json files
Upgrading my infinite user/claude generated MMO. It’s now a 5x5 grid. The outer zones are all billboard placeholders with ideas you could make and upload to the MMO.
Working on hard on getting it ready for user generated mmo zones
I tweeted that OpenAI dot is not great and then shortly afterwards @thsottiaux reset everyone’s ChatGPT limits including mine.
Thanks Tibo, I feel your always listening to our feedback
I keep trying to use OpenAI dot to make some cool blender models or in game enemies.
Its cloud environment is broken beyond broken. It keeps telling me it can’t git push, it can’t write to its disk. It can’t open its browser, it can’t pull, it can’t create blobs.
What a joke
For my second game, the motorbike riding game, ChatGPT has been grinding for days to improve the visuals of the rider using open weight models.
You can see original, remaster 1 and remaster 2, it's working hard...
Claude has been working for 12.5 days on the "shard platform" mega plan for my MMO. I have to steer it daily, it's such an idiot, it's so lazy and makes so many stupid shortcuts.
It's frustrating because it's all MMO backend work, none of it is visual or GUI...
I thought I fixed my MacBook but another restart means it didn’t come back alive. I’m having to reinstall macOS again and figure out what’s what to get my machine back into a good state
🧵Turns out when you ask claude to make 6 mini games in a semi MMO world it will just cowboy code it all.
I asked it if it’s ready for an MMO and it explained the architecture is all wrong and we have to redo it data first, which is what I’ve been doing for the last 10 days
Each mini game was hand crafted custom code which can’t be uploaded to an MMO that’s a security and sandbox nightmare it has to be on a unified data first + assemblyscript WASM system
