The 2026 National Ministry Survey found that 74% of respondents reported their church was growing numerically, compared with 35% in 2021! This is so encouraging.
Where are you seeing growth in your church?
If you wanted to assess the health of your church, where would you start? Our new Gingerbread Tool highlights the interconnected ministries that offer a helpful framework for reflection.

EQUIP WORKERS
Are members being equipped to participate in ministry? A healthy church doesn't leave all the work to a few leaders. It helps people recognise and grow in their gifts and serve as part of the body.
🧵6/7
At the centre is Bible teaching, bringing the life-giving Word of God into all the ministries of the church. While a gospel-shaped culture influences how everything is done.

Imagine a church with few people serving. What’s the solution? Start a training programme?
But what if the problem isn’t just lacking the knowledge or skills. What if there’s a deep issue going on? The same symptom can have very different causes.
🧵1/5
Before implementing change, ask:
What is happening?
Where is there health and where is there dysfunction?
What might be contributing to it?
Are there convictions or assumptions underlying the problem?
If we address this issue, what impact might it have elsewhere?
🧵4/5
Don't rush from symptom to solution. Take time to listen, assess, pray and understand before making changes.
