I’ve been doing this work for nearly a decade, and I continue to learn new facts about cruel and unusual ways animals are tortured in factory farms.
In 2010, the world's top chicken breeder tested restricting birds' sleep from 7 to 4 hours per night.
The change doubled mortality and hurt every welfare metric. But it increased weight gain.
Today almost all chickens are only allowed 4 hours of sleep.
