Had some good news yesterday. My latest MRI scan was clear. That’s 2 years, 9 months cancer free. I don’t want to minimise how difficult it was at the start, or how hard the surgery and recovery were to endure. But if you’re diagnosed with cancer it’s not necessarily the end of the world. I realise I’m lucky that I caught it when I did and that it was operable. I paid a price for it, losing bladder, bowl and sexual function. However, in time those things have come to feel very small 🤪. What was once the single biggest issue in my life is something I sometimes forget happened. If you’ve been diagnosed recently, there can be a way through it. And life on the other side of treatment/surgery isn’t always as terrible as you fear it’s going to be. In fact, it can be better.
