Tweet 21. Christmas Day. It is now 8 days since I broke my ankle and it was established that surgery would be required. Here I am still in hospital @WHHNHS still waiting. Thank God there is no shortage of beds eh!!?? #NHSXmas @NHSEngland

Tweet 20. Christmas Eve and there are 32 patients on the ward most of which are seriously ill / injured some of which are elderly and suffering with mental health problems. There are 4 staff to look after every need of those patients for the next 12 hours @WHHNHS @NHSEngland

Tweet 15. I’m finally in @WHHNHS , have a bed and surgery is scheduled for Friday 22nd Dec. I’m fasted overnight only to be told the surgery will be delayed until later that day. So a piece of toast and a quick drink before fasting again #NHSXmas @theresa_may

Tweet 14. I’m @WHHNHS and the consultant has established that the swelling is fine and therefore there is no clinical reason why surgery can’t go ahead and I’m actually given a bed, on a ward. This is now 5 days since breaking my ankle #NHSXmas @theresa_may

Tweet 13. So I sit at home trying my best to follow @WHHNHS advice. I am contacted on Wed 20th Dec and advised that I would be required to attend the hospital on Thursday 21st Dec to assess the swelling and hopefully schedule surgery #NHSXmas @theresa_may

Tweet 12. On Monday 18th Dec I am asked to go back to @WHHNHS to assess the swelling resulting from delayed surgery. Guess what, it’s too swollen and I am asked to go home and keep my leg elevated and rested. Easier said than done when you live alone #NHSXmas @theresa_may

Tweet 11. As it is now becoming clear that surgery isn’t going to happen due to high demand, it is decided I & my broken ankle should be sent home (bearing in mind I live alone) to fend for myself. @WHHNHS @theresa_may #NHSXmas
