A friend of mine sent me these photographs of my father and I and friends working together on a film just outside of Calgary. Happy Canada Day. 🇨🇦
My family and I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of condolences and support over the last 24 hours. Thank you very much.
With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.
I last talked to Sam Rubin at the Critics Choice Awards this year. His smile and his genuine excitement for all things Hollywood ever present. In nervous situations he was a buoy of kindness. I will miss him.
Got to visit with an old friend this morning on @thetalkcbs. @MrJerryOC … fantastic!
I love westerns. Just saw the trailer for Horizon: An American Saga. Can’t wait!

The loss of Robbie Robertson is heartbreaking. Canada has lost an icon, and music has lost a poet and a scholar.
Deeply saddened by the passing of Manny Coto, one of the head writers of 24. It was an honor to speak your words. Rest In Peace. variety.com/2023/tv/news/man…
The world lost one of its great storytellers yesterday. Canada lost part of itself. And I lost a hero. Gordon Lightfoot, may you rest in peace.
So glad to finally have Rabbit Hole out in the world... If you have, or are planning to catch it, thank you so much for your support and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it. #RabbitHoleSeries
The world lost a light today @Wersching was one of the greatest actors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, and my friend. My heart breaks for her young family. May she be remembered for the beautiful person that she was.
Playing our last show in Germany tonight. Special thanks to the fans who’ve come out. You’ve been amazing to play for. On our way to France, the Netherlands and the UK. Can’t wait!
Two brilliant actors passed yesterday, Jimmy Caan and Gregory Itzin. As sad as the loss is, I take some comfort in knowing their work will live on forever.
Congratulations @realmikefox on your honorary Oscar. So well deserved.
On the way to San Juan Capistrano to play @Coach_House on the 30th March. Hope to see you there!
