.@realDonaldTrump @CDCgov The president was talking about mask sterilization with liquids. Ethanol and bleach deterioriate masks - Heat (dry or autoclave) preserves mask function, while deactivating virus. #PPEShortages #Coronavirus #COVID19

N95 masks can be efficiently heat sterilized while preserving function. The best approaches are dry heat and autoclave. journals.plos.org/plosone/ar…

Why is nobody discussing truly staggering differences in death rates between Eastern and Western Europe? In the @FT graphs none of EE countries is even included. The gap is just striking. (Worldometer, 22 April).

The Stanford study predicts CFR of <.1% those studies you show would predict 1.38% CFR NYC (14,451 already dead of pop 8.4M) 2.65% CFR Castiglione d'Adda, Italy (80 already dead of pop 4500)

**Nearly pure speculation ahead be advised** We've seen healthy 30 year olds laid out or killed by the virus. we've seen unhealthy 65 year olds skate through it. Is there any reasonable explanation? Here is one speculative genetic mechanism. #Coronavirus #Immunology Thread:

Is it at all possible that some HLA types are associated with severe coronavirus disease? I think the answer is yes. With the original SARS, there are a small number of papers that addressed HLA types, and at least one found correlations.

The irony is that I’d like to do the responsible thing and wipe user data from these machines, but Apple won’t let me. Literally the only option is to destroy these beautiful $3000 MacBooks and recover the $12/ea they are worth as scrap. #righttorepair

How do you evaluate claims of ~13% seroprevalence in NYC ~30% in Chelsea, MA ~70% in Castiglione d'Adda, Italy

The evidence is piling up though. 67% in Castiglione d'Adda 30% in Chelsea >10% in NYC These numbers not affected by a ~1% FPR. Biased samples/bad tests maybe but looks possible people develop antibodies without realizing.

If Trump loses Wisconsin, a big part will be the Foxconn deal that Walker did. Lot of not particularly political people hate the deal, for good reason. Wisconsin got rolled.
Trump won WI by 0.8% A double digit statewide loss for an incumbent judge Trump repeatedly endorsed is a big deal But conservabro inc today is like “Trump roasted the press today lol” When this is what really matters 👇
Congrats to the Czech Republic. - mask law March 18th, case growth 20-30% per day. New case growth now about 1% per day. #Coronavirus #Masks4all

Los Angeles instituted mask law Friday, April 10th. This is going to decrease case growth and allow earlier re-opening. Expecting very little slow spread by the end of the month, and even when during re-opening in May.

More CCP soft power overreach backfiring. The Chinese consulate asked Wisconsin state senate president @SenatorRoth to pass a resolution that they wrote praising China's response to the coronavirus. Instead he wrote one to push back on CCP disinformation. wisconsinexaminer.com/2020/0…

Study out of Denmark claiming a 0.16% fatality rate from coronavirus, if true it would be "just the flu". If true this would be good, I think, but it doesn't seem likely to me. #coronavirus Thread: reddit.com/r/Coronavirus/com…

In Italy's latest infection tests, 5,000 / 60,000 (~8%) per day are testing positive. So of the 60,000 people most suspected of the virus, less than 10% have it, but 20% of whole country is supposed to have had it? Even at peak, positivity seems to have maxed out around 25%.
1
It's possible that fatality rate is more in the 1-3% range than the 5-10% apparent rate we are seeing. I just don't see how it could be as low as 0.16% Any alternative takes?
