Rolling Stone rankings are always kinda the same, they have a familiar opener to the list, mostly obscure picks until the top third or so, the obvious picks for the rest, the "correct" answer at number two, and a dark horse for number one to show they aren't sheep.

This isn't funny? Stuff like this is effective propaganda. It works. Very well, even! It doesn't work to get a particular candidate elected maybe but the effect of the sentiment remains. Ads like this lay seeds. Person by person. It's not just a laugh we can have together.

One thing I think was the biggest mistake, and continues to be the biggest mistake, of a *LOT* of modern western Jews and their organisations is the insistence on taking statements like these at face value and in good faith when they're clearly not intended that way.

Every single time the ADL or whoever backs some Jew hater's statements as "not technically antisemitic" because they remembered to do a find-and-replace for "Israel" instead of "Jews" they might as well be prepping the cyanide themselves. It only sanitises and provides cover.

Thriller’s original hot 100 run: 14 weeks, #4 peak Thriller’s halloween runs: 12 weeks, #10 peak if it re-enters already, it WILL have performed better from Halloween boosts than its original run (it’ll add 3 weeks this year, and probably go #4 or higher) and that’s pretty sad

Man, ‘Obsession’ was a letdown after all that build up. It’s funny in parts. That’s where my compliments end. A lot of people were like “it was satisfying to see the guy get his comeuppance” and I’m like….no? He wasn’t satisfying. If anything he was like Wiig in ‘Bridesmaids.’

I mean, sure like 80% of horror movies are mid or trash but then basically every genre is that way. Horror is a perfectly respectable genre. Or exactly as respectable as any other.

Horror movie revisionism has led people to feel the genre is somehow universally respecable and its just not. There's very little to it and the exceptions are what critics have held otherwise and there's genuine good in keeping regressive trash out of public view
