This is so beautiful. Libraries need to represent their patrons…not just one subset of their patrons. We need to be affirming for all the students who walk through our doors. They are all important and valuable and loved. Any other option is unacceptable.

I loved teaching English bc students discuss topics & learn to support arguments w/ text. We’re living in a dystopian novel & being told certain thoughts & discussions are wrong & dangerous. When teachers & librarians are being attacked, we should all be afraid of what comes next

Love this! Thank you so much!
Happy Media Specialist day to our awesome media specialist Mrs. Reckonwald, we love you and appreciate everything you do!! @FPCHS @ReckWrites
This is terrifying. As a parent, a Christian, and a school librarian, I could not have imagined this taking place. A couple years ago, my biggest worry over books was people getting angry over weeding the library. Fahrenheit 451 and Nazi-like book burnings were not on my mind.
This happened about a mile from my house tonight. Book burning. Harry Potter. Twilight. Anything else deemed demonic. Some say to ignore the madman who leads this congregation. But how can one be silent? What/who gets burned next? @TheTNHoller

When you are wondering what all this book banning and trying to control what parts of history our kids get to learn is all about, remember that knowledge is power. And that scares some people very much. #FReadom
