Good to know ✅ Tape, polystyrene and plastic inserts need be removed from cardboard packaging before you recycle it.
Sticky tape is not recyclable so remove as much as you can!

@DefraGovUK This is an environmental disaster? Plastic grass fibres and rubber crumbs with PFAs migrate into soil and water from artificial sports fields. 3+ years HSDC Crookhorn, MP. EA and DEFRA have been aware. A petition to ban plastic grass has failed, needs urgent review.
Unsold stuff goes to a ragman. Our local shops are under contract to them and can’t recycle unwanted goods in other ways ( except for the very eco friendly Brent Lodge charity shop)

In prosperous west London, one charity shop manager told me proportion that can’t be sold is 30%, other local shops reported 30-50%

Havering Council, East London accidently mow 4000 saplings and 80 standard trees recently planted at Harrow Lodge Park, nr Dagenham by Trees for Havering.
Similar events have previously occurred. The council have apologised and plan to plant new trees
