You may note also that the final date March 28, 2013 of their Sun-Venus calendar followed closely from when the Mayan Long Count calendar ended on December 21, 2012. In other words, both calendars seem to still be followed by the same Mayan-like people (somewhere). That "17P cometary outburst" was shown in slide 1 and many other crop pictures from the summer of 2005. It happened more than two years later in October-November 2007. Slide 1 shows three "coordinates axes" of plus/minus x, plus/minus y, plus/minus z, out in 3-D space, for the cometary outburst between Mars and Jupiter. Many "small stars" were drawn nearby. I could not identify the precise Right Ascension /Declination by visual inspection, but an automated search might yield a matching result near the 17P location of outburst. Slide 2 from the summer of 2005 then showed a unique-identity-verification of comet 17P Holmes, in terms of its orbital location when it reached perihelion on May 4, 2007. "SMOKING GUN" I could not use that crop-diagram to identify 17P Holmes specifically, before it outburst, because at any time there are thousands of faint comets in our sky, and I did not have any way to do an automated search, for all non-planetary objects in our inner solar system, with that orbital direction and location on May 4, 2007. You are quite welcome to do so. Slide 2 shows overwhelming proof, just like for fingerprint or DNA evidence at as a crime scene.
