More progress for a PS5 jailbreak.
Basically GPU read and write.
It's NOT full jailbreak, but it's yet more progress. Think of it another crack in the dam
🚨 DMEM0 KERNEL R/W CONFIRMED FOR 14.00/14.10 🚨
Cross-validated GPU direct-memory access using two independent paths. Kernel copyin (writev) and the Lua memory API both agreed on a 0xCAFEBABE write proving dmem0 is a genuine R/W primitive, not a scripting illusion!
A verified R/W primitive gives researchers a solid building block to construct future exploit chains. I told you we are almost here. Thank you for your support.

"Cost cutting" going on at Sucker Punch.
Sigh. The constant churn of talent in these studios is a big problem. The ship of theseus analogy is cliche, but my goodness it's very true.
Sucker Punch is laying off 26 employees as part of cost cuts:
"After carefully observing the challenges in the market and reviewing the team needs for our next project, we've decided to make some staffing reductions. Several positions across Sucker Punch will be eliminated as a result."
"We know this is a lot to take in, and we want to assure you that we did not make this decision lightly. We have given this a lot of attention and worked to support our affected colleagues during this transition as well as we can. …There's no getting around that this is a hard day. Next week we will go into more details about the future."

The industry continues to change.
I'll let you be the judge if it's for the better (or worse)
PlayStation has laid off 26 staff at Sucker Punch.
That makes up around 10-15% of the studio.
Sadly even the best studios in the world aren't immune to layoffs right now.

Some information about the upcoming DDR6 standard:
- memory chips going from 16-bit to 24-bit interface
- CPU memory interfaces typically 192-bit
- PAM4 signal protocol (unlike LPDDR6)
- CAMM2 form factor instead of UDIMM and SODIMM

Plot twist - the BIOS update will let the CPU go to 195 instead
Ryzen 7 9800X3D owners hitting 95°C even with 360mm AIOs may need only a BIOS update. 🔗 wccf.tech/1lfvl
Luckily the prices of NAND are at an all time low, so console and PC gamers can simply have as much storage space as they need without any problems!
Right?!
Phantom Blade Zero Download sizes are big
PS5 : 135 GB
PC : 145 GB and people also need to have 300 GB of free space for the installation process

Games are getting so huge these days that I wonder how much space we’ll need next gen or will memory optimizations help
A junk pile PC is outperforming a base PS5 or Xbox Series console at this point.
They were mid to high end devices in 2020. Esports PCs for Valorant or CS2 don't need high end, but any recently built (4 year old or more) system will, with mid range
RTX 5070 is most used GPU

Up now for all, is a slice of my complete QSSR vs PSSR2 vs IGTI vs FSR 3: Image Quality & Performance Cost Breakdown and Analysis.
Here I pit QSSR against ITGI to test how good it really is for PS5's lifespan.
NXG Technical Review

Given the CPU and GPU is pretty budget, it's very impressive.
Also, IIRC GOW 3 on PS3 had a very unstable frame rate. I could be wrong on that though, so feel free to correct me
That's a very nice meta critic score you've got there
It would be a shame if a 3/5 were to happen to it
Only thing I can think of is engagement farming?
Like Control Resonant is NOT perfect, but it and FFR getting 60 (because of 3 stars) is insane.
WTF is with their reviews recently? I get reviews *ARE* subjective, but Black Myth, Control Resonant, FF resonant, Castlevania Belmonts Curse and a few other notable games all scored terribly on Eurogamer.
Phantom Blade Zero achieves its goal of creating wonderfully fluid and cinematic kung fu-style combat - but balance and quality issues ultimately dim its shine.

Honestly, it was ridiculously long. Especially due to modders releasing variants.
I get they wanted it to be great, but they COULD have released it as a BETA for example.
lol
Then again, some games do have slightly higher requirements. I'd say something like a 3600x is pretty fair.
GPU is about a 2060 super or something like an RX 6700.
“Your old PC can’t compete with a PS5.” 😂
Gamers Nexus tested PS5’s 120FPS modes against a PC using a Ryzen 3 3300X 💀
The GPUs needed for comparable performance varied by game:
• Devil May Cry 5: GTX 1060 6GB
• Borderlands 3: GTX 1070 Ti 8GB
• DiRT 5: GTX 1080 8GB
A budget 4-core CPU and GTX-era hardware putting up a fight against your "superior" console. 🤷♂️
These were specific tests with closely matched settings and ray tracing OFF. 😂

The Zen 6 Benchmarks are very impressive, but weighed a bit because of the new Zen 6 Instructions.
But, there's still a lot to talk about.

If you own an RTX 20 or RTX 30 card, then these cool utilities really help make the most of them.
Multi Frame Generation, Neural Rendering and more control over the DLSS models being used.
