The sheer scale of the venom being directed at Celtic and their fans is more than just about football. It is rooted in Scotland's baleful legacy and history of anti-Irish Catholic racism and bigotry.
We were on our knees as a community when Celtic was established in 1888. In 2026 we stand tall.
And the reason we do stand tall is largely because of Celtic, and how the club has provided us with a sense of pride in an identity that is rooted in defiance not compliance.

I honestly can't tell the difference between Rachel Reeves' policies and those of George Osborne. Both are imposing brutal austerity on the most vulnerable in order to avoid taxing the wealthy.
Reeves doesn't even remember what she said to get elected.

The Monarchy's Rising Costs: Justifiable Investment or Excessive Spending?
Amid the UK's ongoing economic challenges, the British public is questioning the Royal Family's expenditure, especially with the recent £45 million budget increase. King Charles III's finances, funded primarily through the Sovereign Grant, have sparked debate over whether this spending is justifiable.
The Sovereign Grant, which supports the Royal Family's official duties, is currently set at 25% of the Crown Estate's profits. Due to a surge in profits from offshore windfarm licenses, this grant is expected to rise to £126 million by 2026—a 45% increase. To address public concerns, King Charles has requested that the percentage allocated to the Royal Family be reduced to 12% by 2025, ensuring more funds return to the Treasury for public use. Despite this reduction, the Royal Family is projected to receive £132 million by 2025-26.
Supporters argue that the Royal Family's economic contributions justify these costs. Tourism related to the monarchy brings in around £500 million annually, and the Crown Estate’s profits have reached £1.1 billion, reflecting the significant economic value managed by the monarchy.
However, critics point to the Royal Household's rising expenditures, such as the £107.5 million spent last year, including significant sums on travel and the ongoing £369 million refurbishment of Buckingham Palace. These costs are particularly concerning during a time of economic strain for many Britons.
While the Royal Family undoubtedly contributes to the UK economy, the increasing costs to taxpayers continue to spark debate. Whether this expenditure is a reasonable investment or an outdated extravagance remains a deeply divisive issue.
