Happy to see the Bonnies put this game to bed early. Getting contributions from everyone, including freshman Cam Blankenberg. He looks like a player.

The Bonnies desperately need a dub after their season opening stinker. Hopefully they can clean up the things that plagued them vs YSU. I know Bona fans will make their presence felt at the Koessler Center. See you there!

Between Victor Aborowa and Isaiah Carpenter, the Bonnies could be set on the wings for the foreseeable future. 2027 recruiting class is getting started with a bang!

If the Bonnies end up having a decent season, I think Zach Philipkoski could become a cult hero on campus. He was impressive on Monday. The shooting is one thing, but it was his strength that surprised me. He can absorb contact and finish at the rim. I like his overall game.

2027 St. James (VA) & @teamdurant_AAU Isaiah Carpenter has committed to St. Bonaventure, I’m told. The 6’5” senior has shown impressive improvement over the last year as a two-way guard/wing who brings positional versatility, traits as a connector & plenty of upside left to tap into.
Another great addition for the Bonnies as Carpenter joins Victor Aborowa in the 2027 recruiting class, showing the approach from the staff to find under the radar talent who boast HM ceilings as prospects in the next 2-3 years.
I know big 4 hoops has seen better days, but I’m still looking forward to the Bonnies upcoming game at Canisius. Bona leads the all time series 77-42. Hopefully we can improve that record to 78-42 on Saturday.

28 points in his first game as a Bonnie 🔥

My only hot take from yesterday’s game is that I’d like to see Ermakov as our primary PG/ball handler. He spent majority of the game playing off ball which is not his strength. No slight to Au Duke, I just think Ilia has more potential with his size and playmaking.
Zach Philipkoski might look like an unassuming nice guy, but he’s a killer on the court. He showed it yesterday in his Bonnies/D1 debut:
28 points
10/14 FG
4/7 3P
4 Assists
3 Rebounds
0 turnovers
Valiant effort from the former Daemen Wildcat.
I will wait to make a determination on this Bonnies team until after the Disney trip. By then, we should have a large enough sample size to know where this team stands. Hopefully we can use the next few weeks to form an identity and win some games.
The Good:
Zach Philipkoski 🔥
The Bad:
Gave up 19 offensive rebounds ☠️
The Ugly:
9/21 from FT line 🤮
The drive home after a Bonnies loss absolutely sucks. A lot to ponder. The concerning part is that we didn’t resemble an A10 team. A part of that has to do with Blackwood and Grahovac being out. Unfortunately, it might get worse before it gets better.
