Thankful for the defeat of Proposition 1 in Idaho. But there's more work to do!
We should celebrate that Idaho voters defeated Proposition 1. But the many pro-life leaders now claiming abortion remains illegal in Idaho are deeply mistaken. Idaho law actively shields women who self-induce their own abortions from any criminal or civil penalties, granting them complete legal immunity for the murder of their own preborn babies. Proposition 1 was a necessary defensive battle, but winning the war looks like passing equal protection of the laws in Idaho such that abortion is criminalized as murder for everyone willfully involved.
