No doubt Man United fans will think they’ve had a good night but let’s not forget, they have £700 million of Glazer-induced debt - nothing more than financial doping. If the Football authorities had anything about them, Man United wouldn’t be in the Premier or Champions League.

The @CurzonAshton stadium announcer sounds like a bingo-caller from way back when. Listening to the game on the wireless, the announcer has at least cheered me up.
Always difficult to have a definitive view on a game when listening on the wireless, but @FCUnitedMcr have just taken four proper corners, a couple of which caused Curzon problems.
When it comes to tactics, we are from living our best lives. Why do we,@FCUnitedMcr, continue to waste corners? At least 3 in the 2nd half. Is the manager watching a different game? And why, when we’ve got 2 strikers on the pitch, is a defender taking a penalty?
Everyone in the ground knows the tactics aren’t right, except - it would appear - the manager. Short goal kicks; short corners; everyone back defending corners and now a defender taking a penalty. We’re 21st in table. Something needs to change, sharpish! @FCUnitedMcr
I’m not saying that the @FCUnitedMcr manager has to go, yet, but something has to change. The tactics are all over the shop. Attendances have dropped. Relegation would be ruinous.
How many chuffing times do we frigging waste corners? Come on @FCUnitedMcr, short corners are a waste and totally brainless!

Another interesting piece in The Guardian Re Man United. When you think about it,Old Trafford hasn’t just been a graveyard for quite a few players, most managers of the club have also under-achieved. We’ll never know what Tommy Docherty might have achieved theguardian.com/football/202…

Unfortunately, this is very much par for the course where the @FA is concerned.
This is really poor by @FA. The governing body is supposed to protect players. It should be disputing this regulatory commission verdict by members drawn from the FA judicial panel. Max Dowman could have suffered a bad injury to his standing leg from a dangerous challenge which went unpunished. Arsenal 16-year-old shouldn’t have reacted but his frustration was understandable. Some other players might have rolled around and ensured a bad challenge was punished. Dowman didn’t. He doesn’t stay down. The FA should have shown some understanding towards Dowman. Instead, it has suspended him for three games. FA priorities all wrong: tolerating a poor challenge and some weak refereeing but punishing a kid who objected to a bad challenge that could have dealt him a serious injury. Protect players. #AFC

Interesting piece in The Guardian on how Man United were hobbled by a dispute over a horse. Sometimes, farce really can be stranger than reality.

Great and much-needed win yesterday for @FCUnitedMcr. My only complaint is short corners; both of Whitby’s goals came fairly soon after short corners. Short corners aren’t quite as idiotic as short goal kicks but they are a wasted opportunity & a waste of effort.

Perhaps @henrywinter will know whether this is true: I’ve heard a claim that the Glazers have cost ManU £2billion since 2005. This, at a time when some owners are investing in their football clubs.
While there’s no doubt Altrincham have been the better team by far, we @FCUnitedMcr, don’t help ourselves. The general distribution from the back is appalling and these short goal kicks are idiotic. When will we learn?
