Oregon waterway permit initiative to repeal the new fees on kayaks, paddleboards, and all non-motorized craft is dead in the water — they only got ~32k signatures out of 117k needed for the ballot.
This whole mess started with HB 2982 that Rep. Ed Diehl voted YES on, expanding the permit to hit regular folks floating the river.
Now even Diehl admits it was a mistake and wants to roll it back.

On this Friday night, I want you to remember-remember Tina having the backs of these workers supporting their strike and pay.
Kotek loses? The strike will get physical.
Kotek wins? Strike will last about two weeks and Kotek will take the credit for a pre designed problem.
Well color me shocked!
Portland city workers ready to strike Nov/Dec — right as ballots drop for the Nov 3 governor’s race.
Kotek already signed the law letting public employees strike and collect unemployment after two weeks.
Taxpayers cover the tab.
Timing isn’t a coincidence.
If she loses, the unions still get the payoff she locked in.
Oregon residents get their lives disrupted either way. And if you have been paying attention? This is the unions having Tina’s back like she said they would.

This appears to be an attempt to intimidate Oregon voters. The fact is, our vote-at-home system is safe and secure. I am grateful to @ORSecretaryRead for his leadership and for his clarity of communication to Oregonians that our elections will remain fair and true.
