Two children were playing. One said, “Don’t make too much noise. My dad will wake up.” The other replied, “Come with me to my dad. Maybe he’ll wake up too.” The first child asked in surprise, “Why would you say that?” The other child innocently answered, “My dad is in the grave… I just want to wake him up.” 💔🥀 Some little hearts carry a pain so deep that even the biggest words cannot describe it.

a doll can live her life sitting idle upon a on a shelf or she can experience joy when someone plays with her.
The only clean way to manipulate her is to tell her you’re doing it. Say: I’m arranging you. I’m teaching your hunger where to sit. I’m making it difficult for you to want a life I am not inside. There’s no reason to pretend otherwise. Watch. The ones worth keeping do not flee when you admit you’re manipulating them. They come closer and ask how to help you manipulate them better.

Many mothers will tell their children not to worry about them even when they're struggling. Don't let their silence convince you they never need help.

The goal of helping your children financially should be to give them a stronger starting point, not to make them believe they'll never have to work for anything.

The family you build will be shaped by the habits you practise now: how you communicate, how you handle conflict and how you treat people when you’re tired.

A child who can admit a mistake without fearing humiliation is learning something important: taking responsibility is better than hiding the truth.

Some fathers rarely talk about their sacrifices because they see providing as their responsibility. That doesn't mean their efforts should go unnoticed.

People often tell struggling families to budget better but a budget cannot create money that isn't there. Sometimes the biggest problem is simply not earning enough to cover basic needs.

One of the hardest things for a parent is telling a child they cannot afford something when the child doesn't yet understand the difference between not wanting to buy it and not being able to.

Children notice how their fathers treat people who cannot offer them anything. Those small moments can teach more about character than years of advice.
