Scientists just built a clock that loses 1 second every 30 million years. Not an atomic clock. A nuclear clock. It uses thorium-229 nuclei instead of electrons. Nuclei are 10,000× smaller than atoms. Less affected by magnetic fields, heat, vibration. The clock locks onto a laser frequency, corrects its own drift in real time, and ran for 24 hours without intervention. Relative precision: 10⁻¹⁵.
