One of my favorite verses about overcoming temptation is 1 Corinthians 10:13. Paul says there is no temptation that has overtaken any of us except what is "common to man." The Greek word simply means “ordinary.” In other words, the temptation you're facing isn't unique, and it certainly isn't greater than God's power. Sometimes we unintentionally make temptation stronger by talking about how impossible it feels, but Scripture encourages us to do the opposite. Instead of magnifying the temptation, magnify the faithfulness of God. Others have faced the same battle, others have overcome, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can overcome too. My friend, don't give temptation more attention than you give God's promises. The Lord is faithful, and He has already prepared the grace you'll need to walk in victory. — Rick Renner Want To Go Deeper? When you open your Bible, don’t read it alone — invite the Holy Spirit to read it with you. The Holy Spirit is the One who inspired Scripture, and He knows the Word better than anyone. Before you begin reading, take a moment to pray: “Holy Spirit, open my eyes and show me wondrous things out of Your Word.” God’s Word is alive, powerful, and full of treasures that we may miss if we simply read through the pages. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your understanding, reveal truth to you, and show you what God wants you to see. Make it a daily prayer: “Holy Spirit, open my eyes.” What a difference it can make when you read the Bible with the One who inspired it. — Rick Renner

Jesus warned that if our eye is "evil," our whole being can become filled with darkness. The Greek word He used describes something harmful, corrupt, or spiritually destructive. That should cause every believer to pause. The enemy rarely begins by attacking our actions. He often begins by seeking access to our minds. What repeatedly enters through our eyes eventually settles into our thoughts, our imagination, and our emotions. Left unchecked, those thoughts can become strongholds that influence how we see ourselves, others, and even God. That's why we must be intentional about what we allow into our lives. If something continually stirs fear, impurity, bitterness, or unbelief, don't give it permission to remain. You are not required to entertain every image or every voice that comes before you. My friend, guard your heart by first guarding your eyes. The light of God's Word will always produce freedom, but darkness only produces bondage. — Rick Renner Want To Go Deeper? Jesus compared the eye to a lamp. In the ancient world, a lamp wasn't simply placed anywhere. If you wanted it to fill the house with light, you lifted it onto a lampstand where its light could reach every corner of the room. There's a beautiful lesson in that for us. Jesus wasn't only teaching about our physical eyes. He was teaching us about our focus. Whatever we elevate in our lives eventually becomes the greatest influence on our thinking. If we continually elevate fear, bad news, negativity, or worldly voices, those things will begin shaping our perspective. But when we intentionally elevate God's Word, His promises begin illuminating every area of our lives. My friend, ask yourself today: “What have I been giving the highest place in my attention?” If you want your life to be filled with God's light, make His Word your highest priority. Lift it above every other voice, and allow His truth to become the brightest influence in your life. — Rick Renner Want To Go Deeper? The Greek word “parakaleo,” often translated “exhort,” is actually a word that was often used in a military setting. Before sending their troops into battle, commanding officers would call them together, speak directly to them, remind them of the dangers of war and the glory of victory, and stir them to stand strong and fight with courage. That is the word Jude uses when he exhorts us to contend for the faith. There is a war being waged against the Church — a war for truth against deception. We are not called to face that battle unprepared or afraid. Stand firm in the truth of God’s Word, hold your head high, and boldly contend for the faith He has entrusted to you. — Rick Renner

Jesus has called us to carry His work beyond the places where He ministered during His earthly life — to take the message of His love, truth, healing, and transforming power to people everywhere. We are called to go beyond our comfort zones, reach those who are hurting, and bring the hope of the Gospel into places where darkness has tried to take hold. Wherever there is a person in need, there is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the love and power of God. We are called to be His hands and feet, carrying His life-changing message to the farthest corners of the world. “The Miracles of Jesus Christ” is available now! Peter warned that in the Last Days, people would bring “damnable heresies” into the Church. The Greek word “apoleia” in this phrase describes destruction, decay, rot, or ruin. In other words, false teaching doesn’t simply give us wrong information — it produces destruction in our lives and in the Church. That’s why we must be careful about the teaching we listen to and what we allow ourselves to believe. Not everything that sounds spiritual is biblical, and not every teaching is good for us. Peter’s warning isn’t meant to frighten us, but to put us on alert. Guard yourself, stay rooted in God’s Word, and make sure the teaching you receive is something you can trust. One of the most encouraging promises in Scripture is found in 1 Corinthians 10:13: "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful." The phrase "common to man" comes from the Greek word “anthropinos,” which simply means “ordinary” or “human.” In other words, the temptation you're facing isn't unique. Others have stood where you stand today, trusted God, and experienced victory. That truth alone should give you hope. Paul goes on to say that God will always provide "a way to escape." The Greek word describes an exit — a path out. Sometimes we expect that escape to be dramatic, but often it's remarkably practical. It may mean turning away from something you've been watching, leaving a situation that's pulling you into compromise, or simply choosing not to dwell on thoughts that don't honor Christ. The encouraging news is that God never leaves us trapped. Before temptation arrives, He has already prepared a way through it. Our responsibility is to recognize that exit and choose to take it. My friend, you are not powerless. The Holy Spirit is with you, God's grace is available to you, and there is always a path that leads away from temptation and back into His peace. Take that first step today, and trust Him to strengthen you every step that follows. — Rick Renner Want To Go Deeper? Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:13, James 4:7, 2 Timothy 2:22, Psalm 119:9-11

Before you begin reading your Bible each morning, take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit to help you understand His Word. Psalm 119:18 says, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” The Holy Spirit inspired the Scriptures, and He knows the Word better than anyone. Rather than simply reading the Bible on your own, ask Him to open your eyes, reveal the truth, and help you see the wonderful things He wants you to discover. Make this your prayer today: “Holy Spirit, open my eyes and show me wondrous things out of Your Word!” — Rick Renner

The Greek word for “depart” in 1 Timothy 4:1 is “aphistemi,” which means “to intentionally step away from something you once embraced or believed.” That’s a serious warning about the latter times: some will begin to step away from the faith. That’s why we must be intentional about guarding what we believe and remaining firmly rooted in God’s Word. Don’t allow anything to slowly pull you away from the truth you once embraced. Stay close to the Lord, stay in His Word, and stand firm in your faith. Comment “FAITH” and you’ll be sent the link to this full teaching! — Rick Renner

In Matthew 5:29, Jesus said, "If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee." At first glance, those words sound shocking, but Jesus wasn't telling us to literally remove an eye. He was emphasizing the seriousness of dealing with temptation before it gains a foothold in our lives. The word translated "offend" comes from the Greek word “skandalon.” It described the trigger of a trap — the small piece that held the bait in place. The moment an animal reached for the bait, the trap snapped shut. Jesus was painting a vivid picture: If something you're repeatedly looking at has become bait that's drawing you into sin, don't keep playing with it! Take decisive action before it traps you. That may mean changing the channel, putting down your phone, ending an unhealthy conversation, deleting an app, or walking away from an environment that continually pulls you in the wrong direction. We often want God to remove temptation while continuing to place ourselves in its path. But Jesus teaches that we have a responsibility to make wise, intentional choices. My friend, freedom often begins with one courageous decision. Don't feed what is trying to destroy you. Instead, submit your eyes, your mind, and your imagination to the lordship of Jesus Christ, and allow His truth to become stronger than the temptation. — Rick Renner Want To Go Deeper?
