I had the pleasure of joining a rather fascinating podcast a few days ago, with the Islamic Republic of Iran firmly on the menu. We discussed what might have been had the Shah not been betrayed, the tragedy of a nation whose future was sacrificed to revolutionary zeal, and history’s rather infuriating habit of repeating itself whenever we prove too arrogant to learn from it.
