Alabamians impacted by Hurricane Isaias will have additional time to meet certain federal tax deadlines. The IRS has extended eligible filing and payment deadlines to February 4, 2027, for individuals and businesses in the affected counties.
I encourage anyone impacted by the storm to review the guidance and make sure they understand how this relief applies to them.

For years, I’ve worked to bring the Army’s UAS Center of Excellence to Fort Rucker. Today’s announcement that Fort Rucker will be its home is a major win for Alabama and our national defense.

ATF Releases NFA guidance in response to the Texas NFA lawsuit:
"Effective October 9, 2026, ATF will no longer require individuals to seek ATF approval under the NFA before making or transferring short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, silencers, and “any other weapon[s]” as defined in 26 U.S.C. § 5845(e). ATF will also no longer require such items to be registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. These policies apply uniformly to anyone otherwise subject to these requirements, not just to the plaintiffs in the litigation."
