Trump’s war in Iran is driving up prices at the gas pump, and hardworking families are feeling it. Months into this war, Americans are still waiting for a clear plan to bring it to an end. Democrats have repeatedly voted to stop the fighting, but Republicans have refused to support those efforts.

When we invest in our kids and the men helping raise them, we’re investing in Houston’s future.

Domestic violence has taken the lives of 160 Texans in the last year, leaving 223 children without one or both parents. Harris County had the highest number of intimate partner homicides in the state. These numbers are heartbreaking, and we have work to do.

What a day for Houston! Congratulations to @breadoflifehtx on the Knowles-Rowland House and their continued investment in our unhoused neighbors. Funds from the Biden administration helped make this happen, proof that our federal government should be investing in local organizations. I'm in awe of Pastors @DrRudyRasmus and @Pastor_Juanita. Their decades of service built a legacy Houston will carry for generations! And, of course, Houston is forever grateful that @Beyonce, @kellyrowland, and Ms. Tina Knowles keep pouring back into our city.

Proud to join Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan and Tax Assessor-Collector Carmen Turner for the 6th Annual Walter Moses Burton Breakfast. We honored Walter Moses Burton, Fort Bend County’s first Black sheriff and tax collector, who also served in the Texas Senate. His legacy reminds us why representation matters at every level of government. We must honor those who paved the way and keep opening doors for future generations.
