It is important to me that all Northeast Ohioans know that quality care is close by. That is why I was proud to preliminarily secure $2 million in Community Project Funding for ARMC to upgrade its existing Level I cardiac catheterization lab to a Level II interventional cath lab. This upgrade would expand access to life-saving cardiac care in rural Ashtabula County. I will keep working to expand accessible and affordable treatment centers for Ohioans.
I am proud to have supported the creation of the Rural Health Transformation Program, which has awarded $1,377,479 to Ashtabula Regional Medical Center for quality-improvement projects. This investment will help local providers improve how they deliver care and bring services closer to home for patients across Ashtabula County.

I was glad to join Auburn Career Center as they celebrated the completion of more than $9 million in campus improvements, including a new Workforce Innovation Center, expanded Cosmetology labs, and a new Healthcare Wing. These improvements will provide students with valuable hands-on training and help prepare them to join the workforce.
I was honored to join community leaders and local officials to celebrate the NOPEC Neighborhood Next Program and the completion of new homes in Conneaut. This program expands affordable housing across communities like Conneaut, helping to bring the promise of homeownership within reach for more families. The successful completion of this project shows what local, state, and federal partners can accomplish through collaboration and creative solutions to our housing challenges.

Northeast Ohio has a lot to offer, and continued investment is key to building on that strength. Last week, I joined the groundbreaking ceremony for Uptown Mentor, a new development that will bring housing, businesses, and economic opportunities along Mentor Avenue. I’m glad to see projects like this moving forward and helping position our region for future growth.
On Friday, I toured the construction site of the new Lake County Public Safety Center with Lake County Sheriff Leonbruno. I was proud to secure $4.2 million in community project funding through the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process to support technology and security enhancements in the facility. As a former prosecutor, keeping our communities safe continues to be one of my top priorities.

Lake Erie is a critical resource for Northeast Ohio and communities across the region. In a recent telephone town hall I hosted, 72% of participants said improving water quality and reducing pollution should be Congress’ top priority when it comes to protecting the Great Lakes.
That’s why I’ve worked to advance legislation like the BEACH Act, which strengthens efforts to monitor water quality and identify sources of contamination in tandem with the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
I’m proud to be an original cosponsor of H.Res. 1618, a bipartisan resolution commemorating the third anniversary of the October 7th attacks and calling for the complete disarmament of Hamas. This resolution honors the lives lost and sends a clear message that we will never forget the horrors of that day or allow antisemitism to go unanswered.
Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists murdered over 1,200 people in Israel and took 251 hostages. We remember every life stolen, pray for the families still grieving, and stand with the survivors. We will not forget, and we will not be silent in the face of antisemitism.

Today, I introduced bipartisan legislation to make it easier and more affordable for families to adapt their homes to accommodate an elderly family member, a family member with a disability, or a qualified family member who lives with the homeowner to provide care. By helping families adapt existing homes to meet their needs, we can expand the use of our existing housing stock and give families more flexibility without requiring them to take on the cost of additional housing. joyce.house.gov/posts/joyce-…

I am proud to announce that, through my efforts during the FY24 appropriations process, the EPA has recently released $2 million in federal funding to the Village of Geneva-on-the-Lake. This community project funding, which I helped secure through the FY24 Consolidated Appropriations Act, will support the Palmetto Sanitary Sewer Extensions project to expand sewer access to homes in the village and improve wastewater infrastructure for residents.
