🚨TRADE UPDATE🚨 US soybeans are on the move! Sales commitments are already at 20 MILLION metric tons for this marketing year — the greatest start to a marketing year in more than three years and a clear sign global demand for American farmers is rising.💪  Sales to Indonesia jumped 88%, Malaysia posted the strongest four-week stretch of soybean purchases in 8 years, and soybean meal commitments to Vietnam are almost 3X what they were last year! Plus, China is ON TRACK to meeting their 25 MMT commitment — a deal that was already in place before the 30-for-30 framework was signed.  Trade works, & @POTUS continues to open doors for America’s soybean farmers. Much more work to be done, but this is great progress!

American farmers deserve the best plant genetics in the world and fair competition. 🌱🇺🇸      Today in Prairie City, Iowa, we announced three actions to strengthen American agriculture:     ✅ $180 MILLION for @USDA’s Seed Sovereignty Initiative. Better understanding USDA’s genetic resources can help researchers and American seed companies develop new traits that can help protect crops from pests and disease and reduce dependence on foreign countries.      ✅ Expanded work with DOJ on seed pricing and competition. Farmers need real choices, including independent seed companies deserve a fair shot.      ✅ $6 MILLION for @IowaStateU to expand its Alliant Energy Agriculture Innovation Lab — helping turn research into tools farmers can use.      These investments help secure our food supply from the seed up. And starting this month, more than $1 BILLION in farm safety net payments will go to Iowa producers thanks to increased reference prices in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act.      Thank you to the Cannon family, @RepMMM, @ZachNunn, @MikeNaigIA, and @AGIowa!      Under President Trump, farm security is national security.
