I remember watching in my 6 grade classroom the plane hit the second tower. That gut wrenching feeling, the look of shock on my friends, and the realization that this was not an accident and that our nation was under attack…..I’ll never forget that. It shaped my generation. 25 years ago today, we remember those who lost their lives to that act of terror on 9/11 by honoring Patriot's Day. For those that have now grown up not experiencing it, I ask that you join in never forgetting the sacrifice and bravery by so many during those horrific attacks on our nation. 🇺🇸 #Sept11th #PatriotsDay #NeverForget

I recently joined my fellow Mukwonago Area Chamber of Commerce Board members and Biz Ambassadors at Indian Head Park for the ground breaking ceremony of the Kiwanis Concession Barn. This project will fill a need for concerts and events at the park while paying tribute to a cherished part of the community’s history. Thank you to the Kiwanis Club and the Village of Mukwonago for their work in bringing this project to reality! 🪏 📸 Photo credit to Dave Immel!

Faith, family, community. Paul Farrow dedicated his life to all three. He was never shy about sending an early morning text, making a late night phone call, or dropping into the Capitol for a surprise visit to advocate for Waukesha County. He fought so hard because he cared so much. To Amy and his family, to his many friends in the legislature, to those who knew him, and to all of us who live in Waukesha County, his impact will live on long, long after today. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Today we all heard the heartbreaking news that Paul Farrow passed away after his long battle with cancer. Paul was an incredible leader to this state, serving as a State Rep, a State Senator, and most recently as Waukesha County Executive. He also stepped up to serve as a Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. Paul was a mentor to me and so many other Young Republican leaders across Wisconsin. He was so passionate about the next generation and making sure the opportunities he got to experience, were passed along to the youth of our party. Thank you Paul for welcoming me when I first showed up to the County party as a 17-year-old kid just checking things out. You were there to support me as new leader in the Young Republicans, to when I announced my run for State Assembly and so many more adventures in between. Your mark on this state and all of us will never be forgotten. I ask you to join Sidney and I in keeping Amy and all of Paul’s family in your prayers.

On July 4th, 1776, a group of ordinary men crafted an extraordinary document. They declared that our rights come not from government, but from God. That every person is born free and equal. That no king, no government, no power on earth can take that away. These men didn’t always live up to their ideals, but what makes America special isn’t that we’re perfect. It’s that we’re constantly striving to become a more perfect union.

Juneteenth marks the day freedom finally reached those from whom it had been kept the longest. My party, the Republican party, was born in that same fight; founded by abolitionists who believed equal opportunity was the fulfillment of this nation’s promise.
