Honored to receive the Life & Liberty Award from the @lafamilyforum in recognition of four bills I passed this session aimed at protecting children online. The online exploitation of minors is exponentially on the rise, and protecting children in the digital world must remain a priority. I’m grateful for the recognition, but even more grateful for the opportunity to do work with my colleagues to help keep Louisiana’s kids safe.
Thank you @AGLizMurrill for your exceptional work.
For the last 5 years, protecting kids online has been one of my top legislative priorities.
This is a huge win for Louisiana’s kids! Great job Liz!!!!
🚨BREAKING: Louisiana to receive over $180 million dollars in Meta Settlement.
This settlement is an earthquake when it comes to child safety reforms and Big Tech accountability. This isn’t a payoff—it’s meaningful reform that gives Louisiana the tools we need to focus on the safety of our children in the digital world.

Great day for Louisiana! It was amazing to join Gov. Landry and my colleagues for the launch of the SpaceX project that will bring a $100 billion dollar investment to Louisiana and thousands of jobs.
My favorite bill I authored this session requires online platforms to have clear and conspicuous mechanisms to report child exploitation. People should not have to search for a way to report that children are being exploited on their sites.
The “Protect Act” PLATFORMS REPORTING ONLINE TRAFFICKING, ENTICEMENT, AND EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN TIMELY will go into effect on August 1.

The ruling against Meta Platforms and Google makes one thing clear: Big Tech isn’t doing enough to protect our kids. Here in Louisiana, we’re stepping up—including our lawsuit against Roblox Corporation for failing to protect children from predators. We’re not backing down until these companies do their part to keep our kids safe.

It’s time for America to choose: will the most powerful technology in history be used to harm children, enrich the powerful, and risk American lives? Or will we build it with the values that make America great?
We can build AI the American way. We must choose a Better Future.

Just out of court. Roblox has effectively created a park for sex predators and is both recruiting our kids to it and profiting from it.
Today, they tried to avoid responsibility for the public safety hazard they have created. We will hold them accountable.
