Firecrackers have been set off and a large US flag burnt by a group taking part in the Dublin protest, reports Climate and Science correspondent, Caroline O’Doherty.

Firecrackers have been set off and a large US flag burnt by a group taking part in the Dublin protest, reports Climate and Science correspondent, Caroline O’Doherty.
While the main part of the crowd filled Molesworth Street and listened to songs of peace and protest from a platform erected outside the Dáil, a group called Anti-Imperialist Action staged their own action.
Dressed all in black and wearing masks and dark glasses, they unfurled the US flag and set it on fire before launching firecrackers into the air.
One of the group said they hid their identities “for security” and to avoid recognition by “Gardai and the far right”.
