Shame we never got a Deus Ex finale with Adam Jensen.
Also Ghost in the Shell had so much opportunity for an open world game they wasted on animes like Arise, 2045 and the new Saru 2026 series.
Armitage III movie from 2002 literally had a Cyberpunk 2077 ripperdoc, he had all the tools, same role, and even the same medical chair setup.
A few too many time Armitage baited strip teases and did literally nothing.
In the last UNGUARDED space elevator fight scene, it did have a lot of boobs physics.
The space elevator being unguarded at the ended really annoyed me, who leaves such a giant infrastructure next to a city UNGUARDED?!?!
It even had a cannon on it too, yeah just let anyone walk inside it, fucking nuts of a plothole.
I retract the claim of SAC production values, it looks worse than a PS2 game during the car chase. And Naomi isn't allowed to kill enemies anymore, the enemies have to friendly fire each other or betray each other.
It's not even cyberpunk but normal Chicago now.
Replying to @ResEvilDude
I take back the claim of good writing, they've reverted to using hostage plotlines out of nowhere. It doesn't even show how they get captured.
Forgot to mention they switched evil government for evil corporation
Nooooooooooo, they made her face fat.
They've switched the bad guys from feminists to human nationalists, it's not mars but boring Chicago now.
It has the production value of Ghost Shell SAC, so massive improvement, in the fight scenes and writing. Naomi is a mother now. So they're doing good things, just done unnecessary changes. Even the henchmen don't look cyberpunk but 2000s era paramilitary.
Armitage turns into Battle Angel Alita at the end, you can really see how 80/90s Cyberpunk anime directly led into each other.
Like the psychic stuff in Akira into Angel Cop, or the always evil government conspiracy angle.
I finally finished Armitage III, it's story & animation was lacklusters, Naomi was cool.
The plot twist was interesting:
A feminist Earth government is assassinating/ doing terrorist attacks on mars to kill female androids, because they can reproduce.
There is a second aspect to this, it is stated Mars has a low birth rate, and if it has a high birth rate (which female androids can contribute to), Mars could become independent.
Armitage III is probably one of the bad Cyberpunk animes, some cool aesthetics but awful writing and delayed animation or speech.
I will try and get a few more Cyberpunk series done this month. Bubblegum crisis and Akira next.
