It’s Remembrance Day today.
This is correct.

The Outer Hebrides is Scotland's Wild West. In his 1973 book, WH Murray wrote that the region's most important climatic feature are the gale force winds. If you ask an islander for tomorrow's forecast, he won't say dry, wet, or sunny, but quote a figure from the Beaufort Scale.
I’m re-watching Resolution, and Jeezy peeps, I don’t think this show has ever looked this good. Astonishing visuals, one after another after another.

I wonder if the postal votes were late arriving in England and Wales? Or is it just the Scottish system that was overwhelmed by some loon deciding to hold an election in the first week of the summer holidays?
Anyway: If you haven’t already done so, GO AND VOTE.

I’m going to spending the next two days with my fingers crossed, with “pleasedontfu*kituppleasedontfu*kituppleasedontfu*kitup” going in a loop in my head until the results come in.
I just can’t bring myself to really, fully believe in any of the polls.

Stopped outside the Co-op. “You look like a local. Could you tell me how to get to Earsary?”
“Well, you go to the end of the road, then turn right and keep going for about 10-15 minutes. Or… turn left and keep going for about 20-25 minutes. The road’s just a big circle.”

Star Wars fans: “they changed Ki Adi Mundi’s age????”
Dr Who fans: “heh. what a silly thing to care ab- THEY GOT RID OF THE HAND AND CUSHION IN PYRAMIDS OF MARS???”
As a Doctor Who fan who remembers the 90s, I'm very much enjoying watching Star Wars fans tear themselves apart over ideas of 'canon'.
It's only a matter of time before they bifurcate themselves into 'Rads' and 'Trads'.
When the Doctor greets Rose, he asks her, “How’s your mum? How’s your uncle?”
Who’s Rose’s uncle? Am I missing/forgetting something?*

I’m finding it slightly amusing that Rogue isn’t trending, presumably because so many people don’t know how to spell properly…
So, let’s say you’ve got an 18 year old (or, more likely, many, many 18 year olds) who simply refuse to participate in National Service.
What do you do then?
Lock them up?
Fine them?
Who polices it?
Who’s going to force them?
