Fanfic authors, please be aware there is a website 👉 ao3.life that is scraping fics from Ao3 and turning them into Ai audiobooks and selling them for profit
They have an option to have your fics taken down but from what I’m seeing you have to provide personal info to “prove” the fanfics are yours to begin with (giving, phishing scam) and they claim they pay the authors, which is both untrue and ILLEGAL

I find it interesting how my personal favourite stories that I’ve written aren’t the ones included in everyone’s drives they’re sharing. Maybe I’m looking at these stories in the wrong way. Maybe I missed something in the ones people love more than I do. Who knows. Just found it rather interesting really 😂

I see some people talking about deleting their fan fiction when AO3 comes back online. You're not comfortable with the fact people have been downloading them and sharing them with others who clearly loved them enough to want to save them?
Okay, cool, that's your prerogative. Me? I've always written for the fandom, for the fans. Read my stories! Download them, share them, maybe even find me on socials and let me know if you enjoyed it if you so wish. All I ask is you do not repost them as your own, as they do not belong to anyone else in that way.
The point is, they might be stories written by me, but they're not my characters and I didn't just write them for me, I wrote them for the fandom to enjoy. It boggles my mind that people are all "when AO3 is back I'm deleting everything"
Okay. You do you, boo. Your fandom won't miss people like you who are clearly only in it for engagement. I personally want my stories to live forever! Some I don't even have the original copies of anymore (RIP laptop of 2012-2019) so if people have downloaded them and are sharing them now, that makes my heart happy. They live on, as I wanted them to, one way or another 🫶
