Masks are vital tools in mitigating COVID transmission, especially in close public spaces such as transit. Masking must remain accessible to everyone. Banning masks endangers everyone. Reject mask bans. #NoNassauMaskBan #NoNYMaskBan #StopMaskBans #MaskingIsARight

Wow, MN is actually going for ugliest state flag in the country? If not that, certainly the most boring.
JUST IN: Minnesota's next state flag will have an abstract shape of its borders with an 8-pointed white North Star on it. A commission tasked with a redesign settled on a final concept, eliminating two others in consideration. It will meet again Tuesday. startribune.com/minnesota-fi…

What a stupid headline @StarTribune. The same old rules apply- get vaccinated and wear a mask in public indoor settings. Some of us never stopped.

Quick, someone send a copy of this to @GavinNewsom
HUGE NEWS! United Nations & World Health Organisation new report stating that the medical model of mental health needs to be overhauled; and that psychiatric diagnosis, labelling & pathologising people who are traumatised, abused, in poverty, & oppressed impacts human rights.

I’ve been turned away from multiple clinics and pharmacies trying to get my one year old his COVID vaccine booster because no one is carrying Moderna. This is the definition of insanity. We are turning people away for stupid fucking reasons.

Brought my kiddo to @_HealthPartners today and the vast majority of clinicians and staff were masked despite the lack of a current mandate. Well done folks. I felt respected and safe.

The preponderance of data that we have supports the declassification, not reclassification, of cannabis in the U.S. Enough with the moral whining and fear mongering people

The hospital where I work utilizes sensors in our badges to track hand hygiene adherence. So clearly iatrogenic disease transmission is a priority. Yet there are no masks being worn anywhere.

I wear a mask in health care settings because I took the Hippocratic oath AND I believe in the science of viral respiratory disease transmission. Fellow medical folks, please don’t be science deniers and unintentionally do harm.

It shouldn’t require a health system mandate for physicians to do the right thing and universally mask in healthcare settings. There is literally no downside to wearing a good quality (not surgical) mask while caring for patients.

Why is this not the standard of care?

Still fear-mongering about cannabis @StarTribune? Make sure you all wear your helmets on Aug 1. You know, to protect you when the sky totally falls.
This cartoonist is horrible. #mnleg

Maybe this means universal masking in healthcare is a pretty good idea?
Positive = positive, however negative could be a false negative, so don't rely on one negative result to make decisions. Swab throat, cheeks, and (then) nose. Test again 48 hrs after negative. Some tests appear to work better than others (e.g., FlowFlex). nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

There are literally no good reasons we shouldn’t have permanent universal masking in healthcare settings. Since when are doctors actively against preventing disease transmission with little to no downside? There, I said it, come at me. #MasksInHealthcare

I read this report tonight and it reinforces a couple of truths for me: 1) primary care is relationship based, not transaction based and 2) continuity matters - a lot. Which makes me wonder why we invest billions of dollars in startups that seek to disrupt these two truths?
Fascinating look at the value of the patient-primary care physician (PCP) relationship from @AdrienneSabety. Finds losing a longstanding PCP: ↑ mortality by 4% ↑ ED visits by 4% ↑ hospital admits by 3% drive.google.com/file/d/1Hzp…
