A Court ruled 8 years ago that, by changing a surgeon at the last moment, the patient's consent became invalid. Court ruled that patients have a right to make an informed choice, based on who would be operating on them. Act quickly, @NHSEngland - current consent forms need to be changed. outertemple.com/wp-content/u…

@gmcuk advise that the names and roles of the key people who will be involved in their care are shared with patients. Consent for anaesthesia must be modified with this advice in mind. anaesthetistsunited.com/sign…

After returning from northern France, the lack of biodiversity/insect life in the UK is shocking. I can’t possibly convey the difference in one tweet so here’s a 🧵of just how nature depleted we are, even though the landscape, climate & species (historically) are almost identical – at Pays de la Loire, France

Great graphic by ⁦@jburnmurdoch⁩. In other words, Britain is a poor country, with 1 moderately wealthy region.

'Normally in a war when soldiers are expected to fight at the frontline, everyone knows that you can't do that all the time.' As the NHS turns 75, St Bartholomew's Chief Executive Charles Knight tells @HenryRiley1 why its morale has dropped to an all-time low. @mdstbarts

Consultants who bought their properties 10 years ago: If you couldn’t afford to buy your current property at its current valuation, at the current comparable salary you’d have now, you should probably be striking.

A thread for the ultra-wealthy. If you are wealthy, you may think that if the U.K. switches from an NHS-model to a private model of healthcare it will either a) be better for you, or b) will not affect you. Here is why you are wrong… 🧵

Thank you for this tweet, sir.
Loved watching the #Coronation coverage. This was a nice touch, in a procession of world leaders and high ranking Officers from the Commonwealth, this Lt Col paid compliment to one and only one very special individual... #VC

How depressing to see this in the BMJ. It’s hard to say those figures don’t present a compelling argument. It all leads to a big question for the govt: if you don’t address doctors’ very reasonable pay concerns, alongside their conditions and wellbeing, guess where they’re going?

Cattle attacks on farmers: I’ve just spotted a great video on Facebook. I’ve seen a few of these over the years: all had rib fractures, and some combo of sternal/vertebral/hip #. And they sometimes self-present. And are sometimes silver trauma, too. m.facebook.com/story.php?sto…
