announcing paying.stream: hear me out but what if we used crypto for something actually good && actually good for the people for once?
what it does: every play of a song, book, film, whatever is a payment that lands with every single person on the work's split sheet in the same transaction. no subscription. no $11 minimum. no withdrawal step. no middleman holding the money. you only decrypt what you've paid for, priced per chunk, so a full play can cost a tenth of a cent, or more or less: creator decides.
the launch side is where raydium carries it: a work raises on a LaunchLab curve, graduates into a CPMM config-16 pool, and that pool's creator fee flows straight back into the work's split. holders stake and earn in stables, streamed so flash buyers get a sliver. permissioned pools let me wire the economics honestly instead of hoping a generic amm behaves.
built in the open. first launch is paying.stream itself: 9ZGVzP8HQBmejSHtfY4cx7pC1qmUtxmfNjP1EekF4wWV
be on the site in a jiffy, shipping a Launch explore feature..now..
shoutout to @RaydiumProtocol for LaunchLab and permissioned CPMM pools.
i just shipped paying.stream on them, and honestly these were the exact primitives that made it possible.
thank you @RaydiumProtocol 🙏

One step in aligned action is better than ten thousand thoughts about taking the step

Charlemagne is just operating on a different level than Akademiks and it is not close. One man is an actual journalist and reporter who has been interviewing the culture, reading the room, and asking the questions that matter for years. The other mostly reacts to clips and ranks songs in real time.
Charlemagne is the better conversationalist because he can sit with anyone and pull the real story out instead of farming the chat. He is forward thinking because he built an institution that still runs every day, not a stream that lives and dies by whatever is trending that hour.
And Donkey of the Day is the greatest feature in hip hop media, period. It is not a side piece. It is the creative engine. Every day he takes the dumbest thing happening, names it, and makes the culture laugh at itself while still making a point. That kind of consistency, timing, and humor is rare. Nobody else has matched it.
Funny how the last video title was “No Dalton.” Some people stay so focused on what they think is not real that they miss the actual adults still doing the work. The owls can be mad. The difference in intelligence, reporting, and conversation is obvious if you have watched both for longer than a clip.

If they come at me with pitchforks I’ll know it was because of this post, but I’ve let it fester in drafts long enough :
KOL traders selling out to become puppets for protocols and apps might be one of the greatest marketing plays in crypto history. It’s also completely bastardized the trading experience.
Trading has always been a bit of a show. But the difference is that the KOLs, trading groups, and devs used to create the show themselves. They coordinated narratives, manufactured hype, and figured out how to rig the system in their favor.
Now they don’t even have to rig the system because the system is rigged for them.
And they’re all in bed with the people running it.
Every viral coin feels like a three-act production. The massive wins, the public meltdowns, the dramatic losses. Even watching the main character get absolutely wrecked can be part of the entertainment.
Except the main character might be getting paid behind closed doors regardless of whether they win or lose.
The audience thinks they’re watching someone just like them take the same risks. In reality, they may be the only ones with actual skin in the game.
The losses are content. The wins are marketing. The relatability is manufactured.
The protocols and apps print money. The KOLs get paid. The chains celebrate record volume. And retail gets led to slaughter.
I used to genuinely love trading. I loved the chaos, the discovery, and the feeling that anyone could find something early and win.
I haven’t traded in months because I have no interest in being an unpaid extra in someone else’s scripted production.
As a marketer, I’m torn between being impressed and disappointed. Because it’s sincerely a masterclass in marketing, distribution, and generating trading volume.
But at what cost?
We’ve become so fucking obsessed with celebrating the numbers that we’ve stopped zooming out to observe the ripple effect.
If everyone on stage is getting paid and everyone in the audience is paying to participate, are we even building a market anymore?
Or are we just selling tickets to a show?

The “No Trespassing” Series officially goes on sale today.
For the past several years I have been collecting No Trespassing signs from different places I have photographed. That has now developed into a collection of 50 1/1 pieces printed on the found objects with a personalized handwritten narrative on the back of each piece as an artistic addition but also for provenance and authentication purposes.
I will be releasing the pieces five at a time from various locations with only the first five being released today. DM or visit my website to purchase!!!
