I鈥檓 going to say something that might sound crazy coming from someone who owns a prop firm.
I think prop firms have unintentionally created a generation of impatient traders.
Everybody wants to pass an evaluation in one day, get funded tomorrow, and request a payout by Friday.
Nobody wants to spend six months actually learning how to trade.
Prop firms have made trading more accessible, but I think they鈥檝e also made some traders forget that this is a skill that takes time to develop.
One of the biggest things traders fail to understand is WHY prop firms have so many rules.
You鈥檙e trading in a simulated environment, and there are things you can get away with in simulation that wouldn鈥檛 necessarily work the same way in a live market.
Because of that, some traders try to exploit the system instead of actually trading.
That鈥檚 why prop firms have risk management teams, trading rules, and policies in place to protect the business from people trying to game the system.
It鈥檚 not about making it harder for traders to succeed. It鈥檚 about creating a fair environment while protecting the integrity of the firm.
There鈥檚 a BIG difference between being a profitable trader and exploiting a simulated trading environment.
