Allegedly better late than never riddlesdencricket.wixsite.co…

Pretend the middle week didn't happen

I didn't write a report on our second game. There wasn't much to write. We scored 73 and only took a single wicket as Gargrave romped to victory. For the first time since the new scoring system was...

It was a poor weekend from a cricket perspective, but in good news, the new family area was in use for the first time - thanks in part to funding from @KeighleyCouncil and a lot of voluntary hard labour. I'll take pics next time!

2024 begins - just 4 weeks late!

At last, a cricket match! In the fourth week of the season, the ground has finally dried out enough to play on following one of the wettest winters and springs in history. That's not to say it was...

Time to start up again... sort of. riddlesdencricket.wixsite.co…

Our Future is in Safe Hands?

I confess, I've been lazy so far this year. In my defence we've not had a home game yet and we have a fair few new faces that I've yet to meet. Blah blah blah. But this weekend we play our first home...

M V P !!!

Just a bit of fun, but Play Cricket has a section where they maintain a 'Most Valuable Player' rating per club each season. This is updated weekly and is based on batting, bowling and fielding...

Well that's the ground put to bed for the year. Square done, sightscreens down, batting nets put away, guttering repaired (that should have been done months ago!), and everything locked up securely. Now on to this year's drain digging... 😆

Seems like a winning combination!

That's a Wrap

The game started a few minutes late on Saturday due to the presentation of the Second Division Cup. Team photos ensued, and Congs were most gracious in their applause. Eventually the game began with...

One match to go for the rather excellent 2022 season. riddlesdencricket.wixsite.co…

Twenty-one down, One to go

Last week's home match against local rivals Airedale was strange. Firstly it was top versus bottom. Then there was the respectful minute silence for the Queen before the match. Then another minute...

I may have missed a game in the past couple of weeks. Let's see... Ah, yes, just a little bit out of date... riddlesdencricket.wixsite.co…

Nothing to see here!

Hi, remember me? I used to write match reports about how Riddlesden were doing. Usually weekly, though I admit occasionally I had to do a double header due to various reasons - mostly relating to...

Our opponents cannot raise a team against us tomorrow so have conceded. Not how we wanted it to happen, but this makes us 2nd division champions. Back to back promotions - Riddlesden are back in the 1st division next year!
