Everyone on my timeline is begging for the 2021 bull market to come back. I’m not. And that’s despite 2021 being the best year of my career. I remember it vividly: projects raising nine figures without shipping a single line of code. Forks of forks valued at billions. Uniswap launches pumping 100x on day 1 with deep liquidity. Influencers charging six figures per tweet, dumping on their own communities the next morning. Everything we touched turned to gold and everyone looked like a genius as the rising tide lifted all boats. But deep down, we all knew none of it was real. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. But 2021 is exactly why we are where we are today. We’ve spent the last few years paying off the excesses of that one crazy cycle. Meanwhile, look at what’s actually happening right now: Most of these people are gone. We have some trenchers left, but the underwhelming performance of recent memecoin pushes tells me they’re fading too. So many people left, but the investors and builders who stayed are the ones with high conviction who genuinely want this industry to succeed, and who actually contribute to it. And while CT declares this industry dead for the hundredth time, the biggest asset managers in the world are quietly accumulating at these levels, and governments themselves are calling for more pro-crypto clarity. The bad news for you guys: the next cycle won’t feel like 2021. It will be much slower, much more boring, and way more institutional. But mark my words: it will create more generational wealth than 2021 ever did. And this time, it will flow to the people who actually deserve it and fought for this industry, not just those who happened to be in the right place at the right time. The most exciting decade in crypto is just ahead of us.
