Paige Kenton started off as a defender and has been converted to forward for Sporting JAX. She has five G/A in eight games this season in USL Super League. She also has a degree in neuroscience from University of Pennsylvania. The 24-year-old spoke to @RileyJamesTV on GOLZ TV. “Going into college I had no idea that that's what I would do,” Kenton explained about her degree. “I went in undecided, but initially was leaning towards the business school and then at the last second decided I didn't want to lock myself into that. “And, you know, it's no shade to business or anyone does that, but I really appreciated going to the College of Arts and Sciences at Penn and having more of a liberal arts education and getting to experience a lot. “Through that process, I took a class called bio psycho social crime. Long, long title, but it didn't count for anything. “It just was something that looked interesting my first semester there. And I absolutely loved it. And the professor. “And a lot of it was about the brains of criminals. And I just thought, ‘Let me explore this idea of studying the brain.’ I loved it from that day forward. “I'm so happy with my major. I love studying it. I miss studying the brain, honestly. I try to find ways to work it into life now. “But yeah, I absolutely loved my time at Penn and studying what I did. “Is that something I want to do after soccer? Definitely. I think right now kind of brainstorming the exact career path I want to go into and circling back to almost that liberal arts idea. “I think I love combining my studying of the brain and my love of that field with something else is kind of what I want to do. “I found that I didn't really love just pure research in a lab. I'm way too squeamish to be a doctor. So I kind of ruled some things out. “Now I want to potentially go to law school and see how I can combine the law with my knowledge of the brain. “But that's a little ways down the road because I'm loving life in the Super League right now.” Kenton also has an interesting middle name. Her middle name, Storm, is inspired by the X-Men heroine. She has two sisters, whose middle names—Seven and Ripley—were inspired by fictional characters: Seven of Ninefrom the Star Trek franchise and Ellen Ripleyfrom the Alien franchise. The 5’10 forward is also a pescetarian, which is a largely plant-based style of eating that excludes red meat, pork, and poultry, but incorporates fish and seafood as the main source of animal protein. She revealed she’s never eaten meat in her entire life, as her whole family is pescetarian. That diet seems to be working out for her, as Kenton continues to excel in the professional game.
