The news that the winter season in Pakistan this year will last only 50 days is surely heartbreaking for a winter lover like me. I miss the winters of my childhood, when cold weather used to set in during mid-October. November used to get colder, and by December it was freezing, lasting until mid-February. March was pleasantly cold, heralding winter's departure. Sitting around heaters, basking in the sun and devouring dry fruits seems like a dream now.
