Absolutely this.
I firmly believe that offense and defense have a symbiotic relationship. If the offense is non functional, eventually the 3 and outs wear on the defense.
While I expect this roster to look very different next season once Minter fills the locker room with his type of guys vs the ones he inherited from the previous regime, the complete & total lack of an offense has also been a major factor imo.
This defense kept Burrow, Allen & Lawrence led offenses in check through the first half of every game but if your offense can’t score, the dam will eventually break.
The Chargers averaged 21 points per game…a Lamar-less Ravens is currently averaging 15 vs 25 with him. If you remove the Falcons OT game, they’re averaging 10 points per game.
Most defenses would need more than that from thier offense.
A CHANCE? I hope @jhill21_ is getting his throws in at practice!
I was almost 1000% sure Lamar would be a Raven for the rest of his career.
Now, depending on the Ravens do, they might consider a rebuild under Minter.
I will be so disappointed if Lamar is gone, but I would understand from both sides at this point.
If I had a nickel every time the Ravens went scoreless after having a halftime lead and lose this season, I’d have 2 nickels.
Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice already.
Depends on where and situation…
Hail Mary: AJ Green
On my side of the field: Devin Hester
In the red zone: Mike Evans

After catching up and watching the game replay, I’m honestly a little confused by how much #Ravens fans are overreacting to the #Browns loss. Here’s why:
1. Tyler Huntley VASTLY limits the ceiling of this offense.
Huntley is a game manager at best. That’s not a knock on him, it’s just the reality of who he is as a quarterback. He struggles to consistently push the ball downfield, doesn’t throw with anticipation, and limits what you can realistically ask this offense to execute. I never expected a productive offensive performance with him under center, especially against this defense.
2. The Browns defense deserves some credit.
Even with a few guys out, Cleveland still has a very talented, well-coached defensive unit. The Ravens had some early success schematically, but the Browns adjusted after the first quarter and made life increasingly difficult. Sometimes you have to acknowledge that the opposing defense played a good football game.
3. The Ravens defense played a PHENOMENAL game.
Outside of a handful of third-down blunders, I thought this was another extremely encouraging performance from this unit.
Deshaun Watson threw for just 164 yards. The Ravens generated FIVE sacks, the pass rush was consistently disruptive, and the tackling continues to improve. Kyle Hamilton was outstanding, and the defense looked fast, physical, and disciplined for most of the afternoon.
There are still things to clean up, particularly in critical situations, but the overall trajectory of this defense is extremely encouraging as we approach the middle of the season.
4. The Ravens made critical mistakes that ultimately cost them the game.
Derrick Henry’s fumble, the missed field goal, and the late defensive breakdowns were all costly. Those are mistakes you simply cannot afford to make in a close divisional game.
But there’s a difference between identifying a handful of costly mistakes and acting like the entire team is fundamentally flawed.
5. CONTEXT MATTERS.
The Ravens are 4-2, playing without their two-time MVP quarterback, and just lost a divisional road game by three points.
Is it frustrating? Absolutely. Should the Ravens have won this game? Without question.
But I’m far more interested in the encouraging developments on defense than I am concerned about an offense being led by a backup quarterback with obvious limitations.
Get Lamar Jackson back healthy, continue building on what we’ve seen defensively, and clean up the situational mistakes.
I still feel VERY good about where this team is headed.
Not every loss needs to trigger a full-blown crisis.
Alright someone give me the recap on the #Ravens today. Daughter’s birthday party was this afternoon so could only watch the 1st Q.

How to beat the Ravens defense:
1st Down: Don’t turn the ball over. You can take any loss of yards, just don’t lose the ball
2nd Down: Don’t turn the ball over. You can take any loss of yards, just don’t lose the ball
3rd Down: Do genuinely whatever you want; you WILL convert

That week when we though we were getting Leo Carlsson and Claude Giroux was pretty sick

He runs too high and has long speed not sudden speed. He has always been misclassed as a short yardage back -- its his worst trait.
Me watching Denzel Boston dominate while Lamar is throwing to Chris Moore after I was screaming for #ravens to trade up for him
Todd Monken when asked if the players are behind Deshaun Watson as the starting quarterback:
“Really to be honest…they don't have a choice. This isn't a debate” 😬😬
Things seem to be going well

Excellent summary.
I’m hoping that the penalties were simply a result of the first game in a new offense.
If Zay and Lane are down…i wonder if Tillman is still available….
Ravens 41, Colts 23
1) A solid debut for Jesse Minter in his first NFL game as head coach. Ravens' win was never in doubt. His defense got consistent pressure and turnovers, and CLOSED the game strong.
2) Declan Doyle was very good in his first season as a play caller. He delivered lots of different looks and led an offense that put up 41 points and over 500 yards. He adjusted after two of his top WRs went down.
3) That said, the offense was nowhere near as effective after Zay Flowers (hamstring) went down. He produced 5 receptions for 150 yards and 1 TD ... before the half. He showed he's a true No. 1 WR and worth his payday. All eyes will be on him this week to see if he can return.
4) Offensive penalties were out of control. The team can overcome 10 flags for 86 yards when the offense us rolling, but in a closer game, it would kill them.
5) Derrick Henry doesn't look like he's lost a step as he enters the season at 32 years old. On the contrary, he is now third all-time in career touchdowns after adding a hat trick this afternoon. He did his job in the fourth quarter, moving the sticks and milking the clock too.
6) Lamar Jackson put up 324 passing yards and 1 touchdown with a 68% completion rate. He showed his Houdini escapability and made smart decisions. He looks healthy and dangerous again.
7) A familiar face in Chris Moore helped save the lead after Zay and Ja'Kobi went down with injuries. He was a strong returner on special teams and delivered a 53-yard catch in a crucial moment. It was a disappointing performance by Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman.
8) Roquan Smith and Marlon Humphrey delivered strong comeback performances, both notching turnovers.
9) Tyler Loop can breathe a little easier with FGs from 57 and 45. Consistency will go a long way, especially in pressure moments.
10) Ravens defense got plenty of pressure, and it could only get better when Nnamdi Madubuike returns.
