The irony is not lost on me that the restaurant is called "Ember"

If you missed it on the CBS Evening News last night, @tonydokoupil said a Paxton staffer spoke off-camera and said they're not voting for him.
Obviously, it was off-camera so there's no documentation of it, but it's still an interesting anecdote.
Knowing that Fmr. CJ Phillips was a member of St. Paul's UMC in Houston, I'm not surprised.
St. Paul's has a history of pragmatic leaders in the pews of both parties- the exact kind of person that says "Talarico will do Texas proud."

How did I find out he had? Simple- I actually was trying to agree with him on something.

The worst part of conference realignment:
1) The insane travel for Olympic sports
2) Having to think "Wait, this is a conference game?" about a matchup that doesn't feel like it should be (ex: Wisconsin v. Southern Cal)
I've seen school administrators get complaints for captioning their Early Voting posts on social media, "Public education is always on the ballot."
Sad that "I support public education" (for a public school employee) is considered a partisan statement.
Let's update the notes:
- 3 more wins for a new school record
- 4 more wins for the 1st 10-win season AND the conference title since the Johnson Administration
... and the list goes on.
