I am sending around a Connor Brown On The PP Apology Form for a lot of you #NJDevils fans who were kvetching about practice the other day. Fill it out and have it on my desk by COB, and never forget that there's more to hockey than "putting the best guys out there together".
The absolute IRE of the fans who were killing the coaches for practicing the PP with Brown yesterday are awwwwfullllly quiet... lol... learn hockey. Throwing "the best guys" out there is rarely the answer. The RIGHT guys... as coach Herb Brooks would say .
Connor Brown ties it up 1-1 on the powerplay against his former club the Edmonton oilers #njdevils
Snickers are overrated. Peanuts in chocolate in general are super overrated. Chocolate bars, cookies, brownies... leave the peanuts outta all that.
Hey hey @BeardedBlevins
Not only is @BeardedBlevins getting a sweet treat broadcast drop, but we have an unplanned Lets Have A Day!
So, I wish there was a LITTLE contrast, between red and black. But they are better than the black/white stripes. They are 10000000x better than the stupid blue and yellow ones. I wish they would use a Devil themed logo, either as a shoulder patch, or main crest.
My #njdevils fans hand-wring the strangest things. Remi Poirier had gotten more tweets than any 0gp NHL player in history. Its ok everyone. The guy who never played for us will continue to not play for us. It'll be OK
So, nothing is imminent today.
There were talks in the the last 24 hours between Larkin's camp and the Red Wings, both last night and again this morning, and what was communicated from the agents to Detroit was that Larkin feels he's given the team ample time since his trade request in May to get a deal done. Larkin has had enough, so decision was made he won't play tonight nor for foreseable future hoping a trade materializes. Fluid situation still. Red Wings circling back to teams with interest, etc., as talks escalate.
For what it's worth, I mentioned the wet stump being able to get a win in Dallas for the #njdevils ... on the flip side, Helle, or Brodeur himself for that matter, still loses that game last night 5-1 or 4-1 doesn't really matter much.
One thing I hadn't considered, and maybe we all should as #njdevils fans is... Jake Allen could be part of a deal, right? I mean, with Helle, and Poirier just lurking in the background, Jake has to be a name and (albeit smallish) contract that could go, right?
Well. This is a bona fide clunker. Bent as much as they could before breaking in the 3rd. Bad on D, pinned in and running around. Defend, chip, change hockey thats plagued them earlier in the year. But...game 2 of a back to back v. a strong team. No shame or panic #NJDevils
For the record my fellow #njdevils fans... you could have a damp tree stump between the pipes last night, and they still win that game 5-2.
Defense matters 100000x more than the goaltender in the NHL in 2026.
The #njdevils put Hintze and Robertson, two guys who normally give them issues, on a milk carton tonight.
Here's another reason for the #NJDevils recent success: when they hit the line and are defended well, they're putting the puck into spots they can go get it and re-shape the attack. Felt like there was a lot of "hero puck" happening before. "Ill MAKE something happen" = turnover
Standing up at the blue line.
Dominating defensive top of the circle to center.
Making simple clears as needed.
Never to rarely getting pinned in.
Generating speed into the attack zone, creating REAL finish-able chances rather than the previous fake "expected" chances. #njdevils
