Now that Zion Williamson has signed with Jordan Brand, it serves notice once again that branding can overcome even years of grassroots investment. Just think how much *total* value Michael Jordan has provided to Nike.

I hope ESPN+ didn't just make a big mistake showing a fighter in distress after a bout. Crossed the line, in my opinion.

The #USWNT should probably be Prime Minister now that they've successfully facilitated Brexit.

That is, without question, one of the most shocking things I've ever seen in sports. And *that's* why you don't marinate fights. Andy Ruiz, HW champ!

It's nights like this that I miss classic HBO boxing. Everything about this DAZN card is awful. The fights, obviously, but also the production and commentary. There's no tension at all inside MSG.

This seems like an opportune time to talk Damian Lillard. My man @ebosshoops and I stumbled onto a random court in April 2007 in Las Vegas and saw him lighting it up in an off-brand game. Wish we'd seen him more.

Quite a day for UNC basketball, getting Cole Anthony and Anthony Harris. One immediate star in the mold of Coby White; one potential multi-year starter in the mold of prior championship players.

Tiger winning today was his Rumble in the Jungle moment, when Ali beat Foreman in Zaire. But Tiger is more than a decade older than Ali was at that time. Incredible.

With a 'B.' I remember when franchises were worth a paltry $100M or so. The NBA has done a great job adapting to the social media era, so this news is not a surprise.
For the first time ever, the average value of an NBA team ($1.9 Billion) is worth more than the average value of an MLB team ($1.7 Billion), according to Forbes.

I'm happy for my UVa friends this morning. I've gotten to know a ton of them over the years, long-suffering since the 1980s. Maybe I'll even drop by The Sabre for old times sake.

Also, people can complain, but the foul call absolutely was correct. The Auburn defender invaded Guy's space during the shot. The problem there was giving him such a clean look on the catch.

I mean. It's one thing for Virginia to be in the final. But would anyone have bet they would be in the most *entertaining* games of the tournament!?? #MarchMadness

Incredible round of Elite 8 games. One of the best ever.

Let Duke’s loss and the makeup of this Final Four forever kill the conspiracy theory that the networks control outcomes of games.

Auburn showed there that they are much more than a three-point shooting team. They dominated the Cats inside during OT.

Off the top of your head, does anyone know if someone has ever beaten Kentucky, North Carolina and Kansas in a span of 8 days?

Big difference right there in Virginia's composure in that final regulation possession last night, and Auburn breaking down just then.

I love this play. My favorite part is how Shaq just casually strolls back to the other end. To his credit, Dudley must have a pretty accurate arm to hit him with the ball from that far away.
(1999) 20 years ago today, Shaq threw down arguably the most disrespectful dunk ever. 🗣

I'm sorry to see Mike Anderson out at Arkansas. Very good guy. It's a demanding business, though, and I'm sure he'll end up somewhere. @ebosshoops
